Diablo 3 (Console versions)

Started playing about noon yesterday, stopped about 10pm. Woke up at 2am, thought I'd play for an hour - it's now almost 6:30am.

Terrible game ;)

Did you also play on pc?

I have a question! When you get new weapons and armor equiped does it change your characters appearance or just stats?

I played on PC when it launched, ran through the game a few times but never got into it seriously. And I only played Barb and Witch Doctor on PC so that leaves three classes for console - currently playing as Wizard on 360. Took me an hour or two to get used to the controls, dodge is a massive difference.

Framerate is very good, 60 I'd say but it does dip a little now and then but not by much, screen does tear a little but it's not the worst thing in the world.

One annoyance for me is the you can't reconfigure the controls but that goes for so many other console games too.

Your appearance does change with gear. :)

I was playing until 2am this morning...so much better than the PC version in my opinion.
It's just more fun! No AH to deal with and the thrill of crafting or finding a decent drop is much more pronounced than the PC version.

I am playing as Demon Hunter and find it quite challenging even on Normal difficulty

Normal is Monster Power 2 on console is'nt it? i'm still a bit confused over the difficulty settings and the pros/cons of changing them.

ahh, so does ramping up difficulty improve drop rates?
You have to play through each difficulty to unlock the next. (except easy) Loot level increases with each difficulty.

Increasing Monster Power makes the mobs more powerful resulting in better loot, not necessarily more of it. Medium and up also increases the number of mobs in a pack. Whacking Monster Power up fully isn't always the best way as the mobs are harder to kill which slows you down :)

At least that's how I understand it.

No installation required on 360, no idea about PS3

I'm half asleep (blame Diablo 3) - Monster Power does increase drops - it increases Magic Find & Gold Find..

This should help explain it better. The numbers aren't 100% accurate I think these are from an old D3 patch on PC (1.0.7). Inferno has it's own numbers.

Also we only have 8 levels of Monster Power.

Console Monster Power Settings
Easy = Monster Power 0
Medium = Monster Power 2
Hard = Monster Power 4
Master I = Monster Power 6
Master II = Monster Power 7
Master III = Monster Power 8
Master IV = Monster Power 9
Master V = Monster Power 10

Cheers niroe, I would have thought the xbox would have needed installation more than the ps3 so hopefully neither will need it :)

Nope just a single disc. I always install 360 games, haven't checked the actual size but it took a while so I can see it being around 6-7Gb.

This is great news. I've put over 200 hours into the PC version and just felt after that the AH just spoils the whole thing.

Will be picking up this week :)

Just caved in and ordered on GMG for 32.99 with free upgrade to first class (apparently, although it doest say that but apparently its part of the weekend deal)

Excited dont knowbwhat class to pick
