** Diablo 4 Thread **

Thanks for the clan invite, having a blast, lightning druid a good crack so far, banking legs to try pulverise build.

Running ice build here my sorc too.

Arc lash 5/5
Ice shards 5/5
Frost Nova 5/5
Electricity TP
Ice Armour 5/5
Hydra 5/5

And enchanted with Fireball ( bye bye mobs)
Ice Blades is a very weak skill ; it's best use is against single elite monsters, and even then it's not great. I'm playing an ice build and having an easy time of it - ice shards & frost nova are my main skills.
I've gone Frost Bolt, Frozen Orb, Frost Nova, Hydra, Blizzard so far. Only level 20 though. Shame Ice Blades is so bad.

Finished the story today at 45. Going to complete side quests for skill points and get all the statues next I think.

It's a good game, I like it a lot.

I was a huge d2 fan though, I escaped a lot of my childhood issues playing a lot of D2.

Compared to d3 which was a total bag of male genitalia.

Bagged it at £67 for digital deluxe for xbox.

Got to level 6.. woke up after I dozed off. Gone to bed.

Games great, however... I woke up at 6am, went to Blackpool beach, went swimming with kids, drove the 4 hours back home.. I'm dead.

Anyone else getting stuttering with this game? I'm on a 7900xtx and it's very choppy in places.

Leveled up a sorcerer to 13 this afternoon and have enjoyed so far. My first dabble with diablo and glad I did
Im on a 3080, found the game to run locked max fps at epic settings, with noticeably under 100%gpu usage, and I could even power limit gpu to 70% with no real degradation. However, regardless of power limit, or fps limit, randomly, it would drop to 10 to 20 fps, 100% gpu util, for 5 seconds, or 45 seconds,or however long it felt like annoying me for. Nothing i did seemed to make a difference. This would occur quite often, multiple times an hour. I felt like lots of areas or effects must be really badly optimised for my config.

Updated driver, got some crashes that weren't occurring before, yay. Still exactly the same performance.

During an incident, turned the setting "peripheral lighting" off, fps instantly went back up to max limit. Turned it back on, fps stuttered for a few seconds then was OK but still lower so I turned it back off as I was in a boss fight. Turned it on after the fight with the mindset to confirm the next time my fps dies that it's this setting. It didn't occur in the next 8 hours of play. Will see if it's iffy tomorrow after a restart etc. Probably iCue integration being jank.

Back in the closed beta it was OP due to one if it's offshoot skills reducing cooldown timers per hit. Blizz nerfed it hard. In terms of damage output it was never that great. Both blizzard & hydra aren't in a great place at the moment either. Hydra was also OP in beta but has had damage massively reduced ; blizzard's damage is a DOT and doesn't have any mechanics that scale the damage ( plus DOT's can't critical hit ).

I had some massive frame drops in Act 5, no problem until that. This area must be poorly optimized.

I read somewhere that enabling DLAA (sp?) makes the game look sharper and gave it a try, I think it looks much better now! Anyone else using it?

Man closing in on 50 and in the final Act. Seems I timed this nicely. Didn’t realise the story was so long hah.

It’s been fantastic so far. Haven’t had this much fun in a top down RPG since Neverwinter nights 20 odd years ago

Wish I started it earlier just to get the horse.

Just picked up a couple of defensive aspects from dungeons just to get ready for fine tuning gear once the grind starts.
Is it worth adding aspects or re-speccing legendaries on gear before you hit 50?
No (apart from major build ones)
Stick ur best build aspects in rings and neckless. Everything else’s gets upgraded quickly.

And only keep god rolls

Yes, having played without it most of the weekend I enabled it yesterday just to see what difference it makes, it does increase the sharpness if the image and allows you to see more details in the textures. On my 2080Ti it doesn't tank FPS either, still get around 120ish.

I think it’s finally a game that is utilising the gpu properly. Game is slick on a 3070 but if I shared my screen on discord my fps tanks into the 40/50s. Which is crazy considering tarkov and pubg it makes zero difference.

Depends on the world tier you're playing. Adding a couple of build defining ones to your equipment will make things a lot easier and fun, but I'd save the majority of your materials and cash until after the campaign.

Is disgusting how much quicker levelling a sorc is compared to barb, I mean its night and day difference.

That said I'm not enjoying it as much as barb even with the difficulties it has early game.

Anyone else getting a lot of cpu temperature spikes? I am running 7950x3d.
Although the game is running fine, I see my cpu temp is spiking every minute or two. The game is running at 55-58 degrees then suddenly spikes to 75-80 with a high of 84. Not seen any game get near these temps before.
