** Diablo 4 Thread **

That reads like they will be intentionally creating queues though, so they can understand what impact it has on other areas of the platform when under stress.

It makes sense though, despite how frustrating it will be for users.

Yeah, it does sound that way - hopefully it's to make for a smoother launch; I'd rather they purposely queue people to test their systems in beta than at launch.

Also, just in case anyone is interested for this weekends beta to get the most out of their playtime, there is a Diablo 4 interactive map of Act 1 that shows all the locations. Obviously this will have spoilers so don't use it if you want to find everything on your own :)

I'm intentionally not even exploring all I could do in the beta, I want to leave a lot of this to discover in live still :)

I didn't do all the story missions just zoomed around and did some of the dungeons to hit 25, think some areas I didn't even go to.

Same. I was thinking last weekend that I didn't want to venture too far. I will likely start again with a new character class today and do the same things to directly compare how the classes differ without spoiling too much.

Looking forward to trying the necro out, love having an army of minions. My main concern though is how it plays when your minions die off.

In D2 if you lost your skelly army it was hard to get it back without corpses, which got harder to get when the minions died. It was sort of a vicious cycle.

For this reason my 1st live char may be sorc, I always enjoy playing sorc and you get good tools for farming with teleport etc.

Yeah I'm going for Necro I think todayl. I usually play sorcerer or dex characters in Dark Souls type games and probably will be a sorcerer in D4 on launch, but want it to be new if I do.

That because unfortunately far too many users have come over time to think that beta=demo
Remembering back to the days of the original WoW open beta it was near enough a fully working demo which was for the most part incredibly stable. If its a similar this weekend then Blizzard have done well.

yeah I'd just like to try out necro and druid this weekend, not planning to play much as rinsed it last weekend

anyone new, don't rush it, It's just a lvl 25 limited beta so pointless rushing through it

last weekend for pre-order there where at least 1m people hitting lvl 20. Can imagine the amount wanting to play this weekend will be hitting what 2-4 million which is a huge number to get through login etc

i wish i was more hyped for this but i'm just kind of... not. i think everyone tends to find the perfect game in a genre for them (Grim Dawn for me) and after watching a bunch of D4 live-streams last weekend i don't think i'm that interested in the game, at least as much as i expect i should be and i love the ARPG genre, a shame really. i am going to give the game a go this weekend, assuming i can get on but i'm not going to wait out a long queue.

Not often we have a new arpg game out.
Grim dawn is 7 years old now.
poe and poe2 are 12 year old.
wolcen was horrible.
Last epoch isnt a game yet.
diablo3 is 12 years or so now to.

So, soon open beta, be fun
time to dig graves

A Sorceror with hydra skill is looking like the safe bet at the moment. The teleport skill has a lengthy cooldown in D4 so isn't as useful as in previous games but Sorc has lots of barriers/defensive options. I might roll with a Rogue on launch ; I found it very fun in last week's beta and it had great mobility with the Dash skill. According to closed beta testers a bone-specced Necromancer is powerful at endgame. I'll try the Necromancer first today, then Druid.

Yeah hydra sorc was a lot of fun I thought :)

I hope to see some legendary boosts to teleport because it's one of my fav mobility skills.

Theres nothing wrong with that, not every game is for everyone, even in genres they like. I love MMOs, but I've disliked almost all the MMOs that I've tried since 2004, you're doing the right thing by trying out the beta and seeing if it clicks with you, no need to spend a single penny on it until you know that.
