** Diablo 4 Thread **

Tbh I’m struggling with how boring I find it but I think it’s because I decide to play through the original again. I probably should start from the second expansion. Not really enjoying Paladin yet either. Another weird thing is that after trying multiple ways, I cannot recall if I prefer mouse movement or using wasd.

Might start with something else from 2nd expand.

I had stuff from my other character like gold and gems etc, I notice the renown stuff seems to be different. Is that because one character gets the rewards and that's it? I'm on season mode and I notice all the dungeons have no rewards, I guess as I did them before, thought you got extra ability points or something but maybe thats only on story mode.

A lot of the rewards are "once off" and account bound. In seasonal mode there are a few things you need to re-do eg. strongholds are reset and waypoints associated with them aren't unlocked automatically. Renown as a mechanic is dead ( phased out last year ) - are you sure you aren't playing on eternal realm where legacy stuff may still appear even if it serves no purpose ?

Deffo seasonal, my waypoints were inactive as you said. I have a secondary number under my level which I thought was paragon points and I’d be able to assign those right away but maybe I have to get higher first.
Forgotten so much lol.

Yup, the secondary number is paragon levels but you shouldn't see that unless your character has reached lvl 70 when they begin to earn paragon levels ( in seasonal mode ) or you are on the eternal realm ( paragon levels are account wide ie. if you level one character to paragon 200 every subsequent character you roll on that realm will jump straight to paragon lvl 200 once it reaches the 70 lvl cap ).

I haven't had one death yet. What class are you playing and what's killing you ?

It's the scaling, when grouped with others, something is broken with the resistence scaling, any random resistence is fine solo or in world, but in a dungeon with a lvl gap ~20, the higher level person will get 1 shot by whatever the area mechanic is. At least for me.

Currently playing a Spirit Born, but this was also on a pally I tried and the people I'm playing with report the same, inconsistent scaling. Aside from that, I'm really enjoying it and just treating the deaths as pre paragon pain. I just got to the paragon levels so I'll start to finally add some survivability and sustainability to the build. But the last 30 or so levels are paintul on pentinent for a few bosses and areas (not tried any other difficulty).

I can't comment on whether this is a group specific issue or not ( I've only played solo this season ) but I did find expert and penitent levels to be strangely tougher than Torment 1, so wouldn't surprise me if there's a bug or two ... and on that note I had the campaign glitch out on me three times which wasted a few hours.

I am playing on hard at one point a fight started during main quest and I don't even know what happened, I got insta killed. It was the only point that happened, very glad I didn't put it on hardcore.

Also I owe you an apology, it clearly says 'eternal' on the character select screen lol. Thought I convinced myself to start a season! That explains why I wasn't making any progress in it.

BTW: what's the point of the 'clan'? Other than advertising a lot of you stay at home on Diablo Iv 24/7 :D

It's yet another underdeveloped feature of D4. Basically the only thing being in a clan offers is a private chat channel. But it could be so much more if Blizzard put more effort in to it eg. clan ladders / leaderboards, guild HQ with communal loot box etc. Back when D4 launched the clan chat was really busy ... easily over 250 people.

Clan is indeed pointless, but just in case they make it better in future there's 11 space if anyone wants in. I've cleared out the application queue so you should be able to apply.
