** Diablo 4 Thread **

BTW Istarted a warlock and enjoying it way more than my Paladin. Not sure I even want to continue with it at the moment. Plus out warlock in seasonal mode.

Picked latest expansion up this morning and had me hooked enough that I've done a 'all day' session to get the campaign finished, around 6 - 7 hours finished around level 35. Went with Paladin as not played since Feb last year.

Satisfied with the ending, could it have been better yes, was it bad no, still got to give props to the cutscene team they do know how to set the tone and make it look amazing at the same time, especially towards the start when you first see Mephisto in his 'black sea' not seen that done before and looked amazing.

Will start chipping away at getting to 'end game' and running the new season stuff.

I got to agree, I do find the cut senses amazing on D4.

World of WArcraft coins dropping for their pathetic cosmetic monetisation, it's everywhere you look. Really is the epitome of in game purchase slop.

The Judgement set and Bulwark of Azinoth are scratching at me, bringing back memories of hammering WoW, but cant' get the shield on it's own so :(

I see an optional battlepass for WoW cosmetics but haven't had any coin drops for them in-game. Or do you mean platinum coins which you get from completing a couple of the reliquary objectives ? But yeah, a lot of the cosmetics are quite garish, imo, and are aimed at the "whales".

No I have had 'Relics of Azeroth' currency dropping and saw an advert about it when I logged in. Maybe only targeted at people who also have/had a WOW account?

It has been years since I last played WoW. I have an account but not an active subscription.

Just a shop event apparently (like a doom one before) you get the coins but still have to buy platinum to get the items lol, ridiculous.

Did framegen for ultrawide monitors ever get fixed? I'm enjoying LoH a lot but FG still seems to be broken. If I'm playing a MOAR NUMBERS game then I want MORE FAKE FPS too :p

Think I'm just about done with this season / expansion. As I've progressed through the Torment tiers I've encountered an increasing number of bugs, issues with class balance, damage scaling and one-shot kill mechanics ( made worse by visual clutter obscuring warnings ). The story for this latest expansion was decent, certainly better than VoH, but that's a pretty low bar to beat.

I haven't even finished the story
Only takes about 8 hrs to finish the story, give or take a couple of hours depending on the build/class you use and how many bugs you encounter ( I had to redo sections three times. ) The main time sink is the “end game” but class balance is out of whack again ( play sorcerer, barbarian or rogue if you want to blitz the season pass ) and contrary to what the devs stated pre-launch gaining paragon levels is slower than before ( at level 228 you have only 5% of the XP required for the max level of 300.)

Just wait until later in the game. Those early paragon levels are easy. In previous seasons you used to be able to get to around lvl 230 before the XP required ramped up exponentially. They've "smoothed" the XP curve out a bit this season ; you won't notice that below paragon lvl 100 but the slowdown kicks in around 180+ and just gets steadily worse from there.

I'm kind of having fun, it's nice to just jump on and be able to get going very quickly and it feels like there's a decent amount to do that interlinks together, like I'm not wasting time doing something and always being rewarded in someway. On the flip side the balance and progression is all over the place, the power jumps from finding a single piece of gear or getting a paragon board set up are absurd. It pretty much boils down to can you you one shot everything / kill them before they have time to do something that requires your attention, if not drop down until you can and farm with ease there until you get a power boost.

I'm trying to do the Lilith fight to unlock more of the seasonal rewards, but the minion visual clutter is making it very hard work to spot any of her big damage / one shot attacks, I might as well just wait for the next gear upgrade to drop so that I can melt her, rather than actually learn the mechanics.

It was a bit naughty of Blizz to hide the season progression behind the Lilith fight - it remains to this day one of the worst designed boss battles ever. I'd wager most players won't get past her unless they switch to one of the meta builds. Mephisto fight is even worse.
