My WoW Beta account is banned because of that farce that happened in the Catalysm thread here, it better not affect this.

What happened?![]()
As I posted in the WoW Cataclysm alpha/beta thread, a member here offered to send out alpha(?) invites to other forum users and we were all banned from the tests a few days into it. Don't think anyone knows why the ban happened (probably as we weren't really "friends or family") or if it will ever be lifted. E-mails to Blizzard get a standard reply that they can't tell us the reason.
The amount of hype diablo has been getting over the last year the game is setting itself up for a massive fall. The same thing happened with Duke Nukem. Making games big before they are even released so when the game finally does come out it gets torn to shreds because its not as good as expected or anticipated.
Hype is generated by the fans, so it can't set itself up for fail, they've hardly gone balls out advertising it or throwing information around like free sweets.
Plus it's not like their other games who ramped up marketing near release failed, or other companies for that matter.
You picked the worst game to compare it to, Duke Nukem, really?

Hype? Like DNF?
They've trickle fed information about it, not just blared out non-gameplay trailers constantly. And what they've shown looks superb. They're not building hype through over selling it and making sure everyone's heard of it
Unlike Duke Nukem, this isn't some game that's taking forever to come out because of a rocky history and bad management decisions.
Blizzard won't rush this out, there's no solid release date because it'll be ready "when it's ready". They're almost a cautious as Valve when it comes to quality. The last thing they're going to do is cut corners to get it out.
SCII was exactly the same before it was released. But with an even bigger gap between it and it's predecessor. That couldn't have been further from a disappointment for me.
