Google search has been going down hill for years buts that is just the result of their move towards higher monetisation of the search engine part of their business. They have also been downsizing in a lot of areas to save money by closing popular services that were free. They have achieved market dominance and now they are capitalising on that fact.
They really need to start moderating the search results / providing better tools to limit the results returned. The internet is starting to mature now and has been around for quite a while which means a lot of **** content that has been there a long time gets priority over newer more relevant sites.
