Why on earth did you give a cold caller your sort code? Granted they can't do much with it alone, but why give them anything? They already know your name and address and you gave them an extra bit of information by confirming which bank and branch you have an account with.
 
It's just happened a lot more than it normally does, normally from charities as said.

Curiosity befalls me I guess. Apologies for being stupid. :P lol
 
Slightly off topic but my daughter got a HMRC phishing email that looked pretty convincing, this morning she asked me first and obviously I said why not just write to her directly. It said something about a tax return and a quick look on the netz found it to be a scam for sure.

Just an heads up.
