Did Pewdiepie delete his youtube account? !! !

Oh, so he's a youtube nonentity.

Marvellous.

And no, i really didn't know who he was.

He has 50m subs, billions of views and makes millions a year. I think calling him a nonentity is a display of ignorance on your own part.

Will his productions be watched and discussed in fifty, a hundred, a thousand years time? No. But here and now, he has a fair bit of influence.

To be honest, i only look at youtube now and again when I'm checking reviews of items for potential purchase or football highlights.

Doesn't look like I'm missing much with this guy though. Seems rather loud, obnoxious and full of his own self importance.

I AM old...and have no time for the majority of these people

however

Robbaz did a number of fallout 4 videos...and the one where he killed the cat then carried it back to vault81 really did make me laugh

he is basically youtube.why hes probably doing it.

the way its changed on youtube is quite sad. its more business orientated now. companies can just promote something it will be a top watched video regardless of if its good or not.its not so much about content more about paying google and adds tags.to get your product to the top.

for smaller youtubers its a killer if you got a big amount of subscribers now though you really can milk it.shame.

people saying he is nothing or whatever is beyond stupid.50 million followers.i dont love him or particular watch him but saying he isnt anyone is daft.

that kind of following can do literally anything if done right.

There is a few people i follow. I wont jump on the band wagon and start hating because its fashionable or because i dont think he deserves it (you deserve what you earn, comparing that to you makes you jealous).

I watched the supposed video where he claims he will delete his channel and its obviously said as an empty threat and as clickbait. Hell, the whole thing is about clickbait and how youtube is now favouring clickbait for the sake of advertising revenues and views over entertainment. The actual clickbait media outlets jumped on this for obvious reasons and promoted it hard.

I dont think he is throwing a tantrum because his views are going down but rather because his usual audience is not becoming aware of his releases due to the new youtube layout and so he is unable to cover the part of his fan base that waits for his suggested videos to pop up rather than go through the list of subscribed people.

Fair enough if you dont like him but he has done a lot for charity and developing gaming company's and not for self promotion but rather because he had a genuine interest in it. Also, as much as people bang on about the money he makes, compared to what he makes youtube through advertising or other people in other entertainment industries with that sort of following, he makes a small amount.

Youtube is a business and although they are well within their power to mess around with this sort of stuff, it seems most changes youtube has implemented in recent years have been to the detriment of the users for the sake of money. Rather than charge low view/subscriber channels a fee to host videos (which cost youtube tons of money), they rather add more adverts and use a paid content service system tot eh detriment of the viewers who are the ones that earn youtube money through adverts. They change site layout to recommend clickbait videos rather than videos which are more entertaining (as it was before) because these result in more viewed adverts even if viewers dont like it.

Youtube just seems to do things backwards.

There are so many channels doing the same thing as pewdiepie, how did he get so big?

Personally I'm not a fan of his, but then, he does market himself towards a younger audience.

I Wish I could make a tonne of money sitting on my pc playing new games!

I think he owes his success to a handful of games which was not really done before or at least nbot done well.

Things like his amnesia series and skate 3 videos. He literately revived some of these games and made a lot of money for the retailers and developers as many of these games became viral. He was actually responsible for reprinting of skate 3 for example!

I watch a few other people who stream games or who have certain series' dedicated to games, and once one of them swaps to a new game, all the others follow suit and start on the same game, so I think it kind of dilutes the market they're aiming for, so I think they'll never get as big as pewdiepie.

I agree, if an awaited story given game comes out, you are going to either play it or watch someone play it and thats it. You are very unlikely to watch another youtube play the same thing again. Someone like him who has so many subscribers tend to be a trend setter as its easy views to latch onto a indie game suddenly made popular by the biggest youtuber, however if you follow this to get your majority of views, you wont ever come closer to the trend setter.

He's usually all over the trending section so unless you are selectively blind I doubt you wouldn't know who he is, especially lately. Hes been in a lot of news articles.

Hes probably trying to be an Edgelord. There is no other reason to go into a thread of someone you don't know, ignore all the posts and then say "who is he?".

"If I pretend to not know who he is people might like me".

Oh wow, you seem to be getting a bit worked up here. What the hell is an edgelord?

I know who the guy is but not through YouTube. I don't get any of his videos being pushed into my recommendations feed and I don't view the trending section.

I watch YouTube more than I watch broadcast TV (I literally don't watch broadcast TV at home). Your world experience isn't the definitive world experience.

UK's most watched programmes are stuff like X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, I'm a celeb etc, can't exactly claim the high ground there. Plus it's mostly kids watching him anyways.

Planet Earth II has the highest viewing figures for the last few weeks with strictly being a close second. Xfactor only got half the viewings of Planet Earth II. Good to see that Xfactor is getting hammered.
