Didn't get enough caps/Got too many caps You decide

Aye, top of my list Steve Bruce. Brilliant defender, an English Vidic if you will, aggressive in the air, tough tackler, and was regularly called upon to take penalties and it wasn't often he missed. I guess central defence has always been one of Englands strengths, in my memory I can't think of a time when England have ever been short of top central defenders, Bruce's time coincided with England having the likes of Des Walker, Mark Wright, Tony Adams and Terry Butcher.

My nomination for too many caps would be Kieran Richardson. I don't think there is a single reason to even justify a single cap nevermind eight.

How did Darius Vassell get 22 caps? Useless player.

Seem to remember him opening the scoring in a nervy w/c Qualifier vs Turkey, in the game "becks" fluffed his penalty.

Sven liked him as a last 15-20 mins speedy sub - worked ok during a lean time for strikers.

Saying that, we are not totally flush with them right now!

as for other positions - Gareth Barry - DEFINITELY not enough caps!

Micheal Ricketts, had a short term contract with Preston North End, from January to the end of the season. He did alright, nothing special. There was talk of Simmo signing him permanently, but they released him as soon as the season finished. No idea if he's signed for someone else.

believe the big lump just moved to Oldham Athletic
