Diesel performance increase ??

Another vote for selling it and getting a faster car. You can pump loads of money into small increases in power but it's still going to be a slow car.

If he likes the car then the obvious choice is getting the TD version.

You can definitely chip diesels just as well as petrol cars, though you probably need to have a turbo engine to see significant increases.

My Passat and Golf were both diesel and were chipped...

We now that, but the 306 DTurbo doesn't have an ECU to chip unless it's an HDi.

Goto google and search for the Dervdoctor. He is a Diesel tuning wizard. He is based in Ashborn.

He has got the 1.9DTurbo and thats now runing 200bhp + or you can the ecu remaped about £180 on Ebay my m8 has had this done on his 206 D Turbo added an extra 30Bhp and a hell of a lot more torux.

It's Ashbourne :p. (only A couple of miles from me). The same thing he does can be done yourself for free, I think it was on the Johns 306 site?

Sorry, I read rahzal's comment "What simple ways could he get abit more performance from his engine as far as i know you cant "chip" diesels" as being that he didn't think you could chip any diesels, not just his mates.

you can still turn the fuel up on the non turbo (or at leats you can on the isuzu non turbo diesels and still get some gain for free). but tbh. get a turbo. lol

Love all the people saying screw mod, its a 1.9D not TD....

Sell it and buy something better, you really have no option.

The 'screw' mod relates to turning the pump up. Last time I checked both NASP and turbo versions had a fuel pump ;)
