Different brand 970's SLI not working (Only working with Different SLI Auto Workaround

Check that both video cards are detected and that both slots are running at PCI-E 8x

Both GPU's are detected, only PCI-E options I can find is referring to PCI-E is only 'Auto' and only other option I believe is x4 and seems to refer to just the PCI slot and what it runs at, not the PCI-E slots that my GPU's are in.

If you use GPU-z and run the render test, it should tell you how many PCIe lanes each gpu is using.

e.g. something like 8x @ pcie 3.0.

Both GPUs reading the same - PCI-E 3.0 x16 @ x8 3.0

Edit - actually one difference is the second GPU says x8 1.1 instead of x8 3.0 at the end.

It will normally show 1.1 unless you have the graphics test running on the card.

Do you have a spare hard drive you can chuck a clean install of Windows on to rule out some sort of file/registry corruption?

Ok, well that rules out the wrong slots being used / insufficient number of lanes.

I'd contact the seller and return it on this basis. Then I bet the guys on here can help you with a cheaper / better spec.

Well I got the new bridge today and still no luck. Looks like I'm going to have to sell the Zotac and get another MSI. Any idea best place to sell that's not ebay?
