FPS belong to PC, so do RTS
Sports and Racing belong on console
There's a massive arguement on the IW forums, 'consolers' just can't understand what a dedicated server is and how it benefits gaming.

I've been feeling sick all weekend and have read those threads all day. It's so friggen hilarious what there coming away with. The sheer venom is what cracks me up, you'd think they had just gone and spat in there mothers face.
Despite having a half-decent PC, I game almost exclusively on my 360 and PS3 now, and that includes FPS
As above, I'm mostly a 'consoler' and I understand fully what a dedi server is and the benefits it provides. But, I don't care. Therein lies the difference, don't confuse not caring about having dedicated servers with not understanding them. Sure, there are a fair share of console owners who couldn't rub two brain cells together (can say the same about a lot of PC gamers though), but you shouldn't put all console gamers in the same boat.

You tend to only need to turn around 180 degrees not 1080, and yes you can do it in about a second.
You can also do cool rolls and so forth, and can feel the weight of the gun

This is good for me. It means the hardcore players that always own me will not have the game and i will be able to hop on for a 30minute game when I want.
If you're a consoler and don't care then why are you even in this thread?
What exactly is stopping a server owner from running a copy of the game, creating a listen server with an odd number of player slots and just being idle in spectator? I know it would be more resource intensive on the server, but ping wise it should be no different from a dedicated.
I was browsing this thread out of interest as to why people were going to boycott the game, then I took exception to neverender's ridiculously elitist PC-fanboy-esque comment, hence my post. That OK by you? Besides, I'm not exclusively a 'consoler', I said MOSTLY a console gamer, there are some games I still play on PC.
Anyway FWIW I think this is a bad decision by IW. Putting silly PC vs Console arguments aside it's true that they are different demographics, and simply porting console style matchmaking to the PC game just isn't going to work well for the PC gaming community.

The xbox users (they have it under their name before you think i just assume the idiots use an xbox) on there make youtube comments look like nobel laureates.
I have had a look and frankly some of the comments are embarrassing. You cannot judge all console gamers on the vocal majority of idiots over there though. Hell, there are a lot of idiotic PC gamers there too, I mean look at the idiot who started the 'console kiddies' thread:

Who cares about consoles, I very much doubt you'll be worrying about lag spikes in MP, when it takes like 2 seconds to aim with an analogue stick, compared to say 0.2 seconds with a mouse.
I have nothing against consoles and very much value the use of my 360 controller for certain games on the PC, but you wouldn't find me caught dead playing an fps game with a gamepad, it's pretty horrendous.
