Xbox LIVE was down for the whole of the Christmas period (2 weeks) when COD4 came out. Even when it was initially released it didn't work online.

Was it? I played online during Xmas 2008 with COD4, and so did my friend who I worked with.

My clan had just ordered 8 MW2 servers about 3 weeks ago, well i guess our admin better sort that out

. I just cancelled my pre order and I hope they change their minds about dedicated servers and mods, I struggle to see the point in what they are doing as it doesn't make much sense.

Quite.

Removing dedicated servers and moving to P2P MP is a backwards step almost akin to if they had removed online play on consoles and made it split screen or system link only.

You can bet they'd be moaning if that had happened, so of course PC gamers are going to moan when the game effectively takes such a backwards step for us.

Ouch, if even PC mags are getting behind it then they are in trouble.

"Even worse, without dedicated servers we can't enforce our 'don't be a dick' policy."

That sort of policy is why i like dedicated servers with good community admins.
