I have a friend of mine work at game UK store, he mentioned: "On Monday, we had over 15,000 order cancelled."

check amazon order top list LOL!!! MW2 #62

over 100,000 order cancelled in the last 2 days at gamestop.

This is the biggest fail in history of gaming.

I think it's quite sly that IW kept quiet about the lack of dedicated servers until it was leaked. They must have known this for a long time yet kept quiet knowing they would lose a lot of sales.

I just hope that PC Zone, etc rate the game based on multiplayer too and don't just say "We couldn't try the P2P multiplayer as there were no other players at the time, but it worked fine over LAN" as they did with OFP 2.

It would be so good if Infinity Ward acted on this an integrated dedicated server support or even some developer tools so the community could do it.... But it's just not going to happen is it? :(

nope :( bet they do and EA, stonewall the community and laugh at us.

Interesting quote on there:

"I posted that MW2 on Amazon.coms 100 best seller list had dropped to #73 and apparently that a 64 place drop.."

By interesting do you mean "doesn't seem to be true".

MW2 is in third place on the US amazon.

MW2 is in 5th place on the UK amazon.

With 78 reviews and a total score of 1 star, I don't think it's doing them any favours. I would be almost willing to bet that even casual gamers will be put off by that now too. I doubt they know what a dedicated server actually is, but with so many people saying the game is worthless without them, they may be far less likely to play it themselves for fear of wasting money.

LOL @ the reviews! :D

It seems this is a (worthy) boycott people are actually going to stick to, makes me proud to be a part of it. Would love to be a fly on the wall at IW right now. :o

I don't know, I think it is pretty easy to boycott a game before it has been released yet once the game is on the shelves temptation will be so much harder to resist.

Not to mention we don't really have any idea how many people actually care about this issue. Sure the rather internet aware clan players do, but does the average consumer?

They are taking their time with a reply although as this has blew up in their face and maybe in the face of Activision too, expect some MAJOR PR in the near future when the Activision PR machine kicks into gear.

Also, I imagine some boss at IW has had a stern speaking to from Activision management.

It all boils down to if Activision are going to pay for the server tools to be created so it is Activision we need to lobby.
