SWAT 4 was also awesome, too many cheats though.

I'm going to have to jump in on the Raven Shield nostalgia. Sure, it was truly amazing and I'd do anything to see a new and fully fledged Rainbow Six PC game come out (which will never happen). However, even Raven Shield was met with serious criticisms from the community back when it was released in 2004.

At some point during the game's development (after the v. popular demo release) the team was suddenly almost entirely changed and the final game was only a glimmer of what it was going to be if this had never occured. In other words, RS probably marked the start of the slope downward.

The actual high point imo was, without doubt, Rogue Spear. This was the ultimate achievement of Red Storm Entertainment, alongside the first Ghost Recon. You want actual realism? Go play Rogue Spear - if it even works on Vista / Win 7!
 
R6 was one of the first games I personally bought, the picture of that SWAT officer aiming his USP on the front of the box was just too temping not to pick up.

I personally didn't notice too much change between Rogue Spear and Raven Shield, other than the graphics.

You guys spend much time in the BAD server back in the day?

Raven Shield holds some very fond memories for me and is still my number one game of all time! I'd love to know how many hours I put into that since the demo release, nothing beats ladder bug :p

Wanted to kill ubi when they released lockdown (played the demo for 3hrs cursing the whole time and never followed the franchise since) and then the consoley ports Vegas - why UBI why :(

Was thinking about playing it again this wknd as there are usually 10 or so servers up but this nostalgia seals the deal :cool:

Raven Shield was the last of the series, everything after it sucked.

As for playing again, the last time I played was last Xmas I believe. The graphics are still fine even today, very playable.

Aye, xbox does a great job at destroying classic pc series. Its all catered for the laid back easy approach little timmy sort.
 
I can't belive IW did the worst move they have ever made :| no dedicated servers, caps of 8v8 :| YOU have to use steam :|

whats next? No mouse and keyboard support? you have to buy a pad?....us PC gamers might aswell be deprived of everything
 
wow thanks everyone. I was on the 'place order' page on GAME, came here to see if there was a preferred order site. Cancelled now. Any other good games people recommend? :) Tired of whipping everyone's butt on cod4
