Is that really going to hurt anyone but themselves? I mean from a purely business perspective if you want MW2 and steam are the only you can buy it online then you'll buy it from steam surely. So it just means more money in there rivals pocket.
 
Am not all that fussed about mods etc, its just the lag I am concerned about. I believe you can, instal it onto a server giving you the benefit of the connection (and no host advantage). Draw back is you need to buy a copy of the game for the server, and the server it's self will take up a slot in the game (perm spectator).

I bought it for 360, if it's a good game and IW do cave with a patch they may just be able to salvage it. That or IW net turns out to be better than the second coming (and I saw pigs fly today but its been an unusual sort of day tbh).

I doubt it would work with cd keys and VAc though so i wouldn;t want to play it.


although someone may find a way of running a retail copy on a dedi server and having it set to spec (if they can get around the need for GFX components)

course not, it will still brining in tens of millions on the pc, much more than it cost to port it across.


Everyone really is overestimating how big this news is and how much the target market cares.
 
Well if the FOV is the same as in COD4 that means horrible `tunnelvision`default FOV and no dev.console means you cant change it either:(
 
Well just checked and yep its on torrents allready, russian release no crk tho as just a rip of the steam version and its date stamped. 11gb it seems.

Haha this is gona be the most pirated game ever probs, tho duno why its just crap cod4 type of game. BRING ON WW2 FPS GAMES AGAIN! :D

Oh and according to some sites theres another cod planned for 2011 and a quick cod game out next year. And there thinking of making cod into mmo lol.

I don't think you will see it in this form tbh, I think what will happen is a COD4 total conversion mod using the COD4 dedicated server and PB. MW2 is after all only a reworking with tweaks of COD4 and the maps and content "just" need porting across, We may not see everything but it would still be viable.

I also spent many hours across about 3 years or so playing RVS, truly epic game. I can still picture every map in my head.

I was in -=DA Dark Angels clan.
 
Is the game also steam locked like left 4 dead ? once activated it's permanently locked to that account so you cant sell the game on when bored of it ? if so that disgusts me too I hated that about l4d and have vowed never ever to buy another game ever again that is steam locked.

Why should I be stuck with games that I will never ever play again am surprised there wasn't more fuss over this latest trend of steam activated games.

I used to play on your server loads, also i thought you were all chicks :P Was fun though. Had many names cant remember what i was using at the time though. Possibly creomortis or when playing anonymous coca cola.
 
Yea i played a lot in DA, I was BAD-MøRT or AeG|MoRT over that time. It really was great fun clanning in that game, everyone on top of the bus outside bank Ragdoll physics applied, all lay c4 and claymores, someone fraps from the street and "click click click BOOM" :D

I can still walkthrough all the maps in my head :(
