Digital Blackface BBC

I always thought the ideal behind promoting anti-discrimination was to live in a society where skin colour didn't matter but the left are obsessed with skin colour and identity politics and giving special treatment to particular groups, in this case they're basically flipping discrimination on its head where white people are being oppressed. If you told black people that they couldn't use memes of white people there'd be a massive outcry from the same left. All they are really are doing I think by giving special treatment to minorities is creating division and resentment.

They don't want equality, they want revenge for being enslaved.

What if you're a black person who is a descendant of the slave traders who sold other black people off as slaves? Do you still get to get revenge?

One of my favourite gifs i've used here loads is this

This mean i'm racist?

This sort of thing almost perpetuates racism. Of course it's right to point out discrimination if that's what's occurring, but if black American comedians appear in funny skits, and then those skits are used as gifs to represent funny topics, I'm confused as to how it's anything other than....I suppose, a compliment? Surely it's positive PR? The point of these gif's isn't race...for instance the fact that this gif has a black guy in it is irrelevant. Would it make any difference if it was a white woman? I don't think so.

The famous popcorn eating gif is not a black man eating popcorn, its Michael Jackson eating popcorn.

I am fortunate enough to be in Florida at the moment.

The day before yesterday we went to Animal Kingdom and watched the Lion King show. It was brilliant but there were gymnasts dressed as monkeys. They were all white guys coincidentally, but one of them would jump into the crowd and ruffle the hair of guests. He went to a young black guy who looked thoroughly unimpressed with a white guy dressed as a monkey making monkey noises at him.

The point is that it was part of the show and in no way intended to insult the black guests, but of course this was lost on the guy who was sat with a snarl on his face throughout.

Context is everything in these cases. It doesn't matter what you or I or anyone else "interprets" something as. It is the intent that matters. If you are offended by the colour of an emoji or a man dressed as a monkey in a Lion King show then that is your problem for being a delicate little *********.

We need more victories for common sense. The next time someone falsely accused someone or something of being racist then they should be smashed all over the place in court for slander, libel and whatever else they can charge them for.

They don't want equality, they want revenge for being enslaved.

In that case most of Europe needs to invade Rome!

No one alive today, or even their great grandparents were slaves or slavers. People need to let it go.

She fails on literally every point she tries to make:
"the most popular ones are of black people being dramatic...white people using GIFs to perform some kind of exaggerated blackness"[/QUOTE]
Has she even considered the possibility that white people are using the GIFs to show exaggerated expression or drama?

"Let's talk about white people using black-skinned emojis...this is a form of cultural appropriation"
No, let's talk about black people using yellow-skinned emojis.

"Well, black people are not here for other people's entertainment"
Better tell Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Samuel L. Jackson, Bennie Mac, etc, etc, etc.

Perfect example of the pot calling the kettle...erm...oh my...

You mean who is really behind it?

What I mean is that people (of any colour) are using these GIFs to show exaggerated expression, the skin colour is irrelevant.
