Digitalrev

Agreed, one can only think companies have no confidence in their products if they offer such short warranty periods on products costing thousands. They clearly don't care about their customers in any case.

Tamron offer a 5 year warranty on UK purchases.

Incidentally the 17-50 f/2.8 is more expensive on D-rev than it is at Wex

I bought 3 lenses from DigitalRev in 2004, all import taxes paid.

Canon 17-40, 24-70 and 100-400. The 100-400 had to be warranty returned due to an IS failure just over 12 months into ownership and D-Rev honoured the fix.

I still have the 17-40 but have sold the other 2.

I ordered an X-Mount Samyang 12mm f2 from Digitalrev at 8:11am, it was dispatched 19 minutes later and was on my desk when I got to the office at 9am the next morning.

Whatever you feel about import duty, you can't really argue with 24 hour delivery over 6000 miles.

Contrast that with a Redged tripod I've ordered from a Uk distributor that's probably 80 miles away. Three days now, and delivery wasn't free.

they probably have a UK warehouse with the common items, which is probably why they can avoid customs so easily. goodness knows how they import in bulk like that.

Anyway, no one has said the service is bad.

Nope, I tracked the parcel from Hong Kong to Hammersmith via Heathrow and customs- the label shows the route too.

The comment was intended as feedback for the OP-

Has anyone used digitalrev before, and how'd you go with them?

Main concerns aren't with the company themselves as I fully trust them (have been watching thier youtube series for a long time), but more with delivery times, and the possibility of paying import duty
