DirectX 10

The only proper DX10 game is out in a few weeks and that's bioshock, games currently available such as lost planet and COH are just patched up to so called DX10 standards and as such i wouldn't really call them DX10 titles, its just publishers trying to make a quick buck out of their games by using the DX10 buzz word but in reality they hardly look no different and perform much worse than the DX9 versions.

Is there anyway in vista to see what DX ver is installed ??

As i can't seem to find any way of doing this...

Edit: I find it in the Nvidia control panel
I have DirectX 10.0 (6.0.6000.16386) installed

Technically Bioshock isnt even a true directx10 game. Neither is crysis as a true DX10
If it's using Directx10 to some degree to me it is indeed a Directx10 game, it's still making use of it at least, just hope it isn't a stuttering mess on BioShock, sounds like it won't be though.

Neither is crysis as a true DX10 will be DX10 only and not have a DX9 version any game that has DX9 version i dont care what developers say will will be a DX9 and 10 hybrid. All current and all games close to release are DX9 games with a few tweaks and DX10 features added. None of these games were designed purely for DX10. The first game that will only run in DX10 and show its potential will probably be Alan Wake.

So by your logic HL2 is a DX8 game
