DirectX 12 Will Allow Multi-GPU Between GeForce And Radeon

This is complete rubbish. You can debunk it by trawling over old discussions around here and elsewhere.

Also anyone who remembers LucidLogix Hydra are rolling their eyes right now.

The difference between this and lucid hydra, is that lucid was having to work over directx 9 - 11 etc, the same with current SLI/Xfire tech. while with this, you have explicit control over the rendering pathway and the gpu, so you have direct control over what gets rendered and where it gets rendered.

We could see Asynch multi gpu rendering with how lucid originaly envisioned it, where one gpu would render certain objects on the screen, while another renders the rest, so a slower gpu could still contribute to the overall rendering without having to render the entire scene, or a large chunk of it as with Scissor/Split/Tile etc.

quick question to those in the know, does this mean that you can technically get paired VRAM pci boards to go with your card to give you a vram boost?

I am also perplexed as to the point/message of the article. Are they supposed to be saying it's a _NEW_ SFR?

It won't be the exact same method you're seeing now, no. I thought that would have been obvious. It's just poorly worded. There are a fair few examples of different methods for both AFR and SFR

From reading that, it sounds like the author doesn't really know what they're talking about. Vague ideas like "pooling all the graphics resources into one bucket" is very far from a trivial thing to do requires some further explanation.
