some people are amazing on racing rally games with keyboards and controllers.im not one of them :D.some do set world records so i guess its just muscle memory and practice.its a shame you cant pick up a cheap wheel like a logitech DFGT to try it.they go for about £50-60 2nd hand but it transforms the game.

yes you can feel the weight now of the car. what you wont get from video is the actual " feel " thats what is so good now.

if any of you want to see something just say ill record it

i use a modded DFGT with handbrake.
i use default settings on my wheel and all i have adjusted is torque alignment.if this is too strong it makes for a pendulum effect.

rest is default.just tried the escort cossie for the first time ( uploading video) in dirt rally it was a bit of a duffer.which was a shame because its a epic iconic car.in Dirt 4 its sublime.handles so well.also tried the pug 205 t16 earlier.group b is now harder to drive.:D so you really have to drive well or pull your hair out.:p

leader boards are up aswell just noticed so i been readjusting the top times.
 
it plays fine on a wheel. just like any racing rally game need to adjust your settings to how you want it.some people struggle with this then blame a game.

what wheel do you have ?
 
try keeping it default and in dirt rally lower the torque alignment to 30 and turn off soft lock.

many people have t150 t300 and t500 wheels so you should fine decent settings about.most of the thrustmaster settings for dirt rally are similar.youtube has loads or even copy vajbs who live streams most days.

WRC 6 isnt close to as good.maybe it just suits how you want it.

as i posted before its all about getting your wheel right.many over complicate things.default wheel settings should be fine then adjust ingame.

played all the car games. only ones i really rate is assetto corsa and dirt rally.now dirt 4.if people are setting their wheel up wrong doesn't matter how good it is in-game.

steam pre load is up.
 
DFGT go for about £50-60 daily on ebay.great wheel dont be fooled very good wheel.for the price.that or a cheap thrustmaster t150 is what id go for if getting a starter wheel.
 
you have to try all surfaces before judging it.i think wales needs a little more tweaking on gravel and i think they working on getting the handbraking back end of car swinging better as we speak.

new game few small tweaks be one of the best rally games ever.just tried the normal lancia delta on spain.its worth buying just for the tarmac handling.so much better than dirt rally.

thats even worse than half the people who played for one hr rage quit ran straight to steam forums and starting typing in caps.

just sell the key be done with it.you seem to have made your mind up regardless.

Dirt 1 didnt have more variety.

dirt rally was a great game but cars had no weight to them .tarmac was pretty poor.cars now have weight in dirt 4 the tarmac is amazing handling wise.you wont guage the true graphics off videos on youtube or twitch because of the compression.i know i been videoing it all week pulling my hair out because of the stupid compression.

done many top 1 times across all platforms but couldnt upload them because of the compression pixelation in certain views.

the handling if you didn't know in dirt rally was altered aswell.didnt just come out as you like it.so this game will have the same.same as any other game.release game.get feedback.adjust to feedback.

tarmac is amazing
gravel is decent but just need so cars can slide easier back kicks out easier
snow is great better than previous
australia is great

so over all the actual ffb and handling is better more easier to feel what you doing it just needs a couple of small tweaks.
