In addition to this, we are currently investigating what is required in terms of time and resources to implement Oculus SDK support into the Steam version of the game.
Adding Oculus SDK support to the Steam version is not a simple matter of flicking a switch, nor is it a case of copy/pasting code from the Oculus version. It’s also not something that can happen immediately or in a very short space of time. We’ll share more in the future once things progress.
While the Oculus SDK might see the steam version, I doubt very much that the Open VR version will see any further support beyond PR pleasantry. The VR port was outsourced and from what Codemasters are saying is that now they are responsible for fixing it going forward. From what they've written in the blog, it doesn't seem hopeful does it
Time an resource allocation isn't something Codemasters earn a good reputation for when it comes to supporting older or low performing product. I doubt the VR sales will grant the resources required.
