Dont worry about cards to much, but a quick break down. The bronze cards are what you are aiming for. Any colour card can be dropped random from cases and can be for any merc *even ones you don't own* but these can be traded up and you PICK the Merc to level, when selecting TRADE UP.

At first it feels like your getting random cards of no use. but click trade up and you get to pick your Merc and then trade up one level ie Bronze to silver - silver to gold - Gold to colbat.
You can buy a complete pack for *ingame cash* of bronze cards for $100,000 ingame currency (costs you no real money can all be earnt in game). Or you can buy the card you want for $12,000 I think.
So you can either get lucky and get a card you want in a drop, or trade your spares or unwanted for something you want.

Bronze cards give 3 perks these imo are the best coloured cards, Everything above just gives cosmetic upgrades which have no influence on your merc abilitys.
So that keeps it from PAYTOWIN. Not that having bronze cards gives that much of an upgrade, there very slight improvements...
No one needs to spend money to enjoy the game, That just allows you short cuts. If theres a Merc you really want you can buy him and support the devs.


Imo its much better now with people who are cash or time rich able to both achieve the same results.

What FOV do you guys use on 16:9 monitors?

I'm at 80 at the moment and it seems ok. It gets all a bit distorted if I go much higher.

I don't know about 16:9, but I'm on a 16:10 monitor and run it at maximum FOV (100) and it looks fine.

75 I think. Highest I can go before fisheye gets annoying.

I seem to be getting worse.

I ended up using a basic card for Fragger last night and this was a big improvement over the Bronze card i had for him. Makes me wonder if things are working properly.

Also with 140k in Credits every case is now LEAD

This game is well addictive! - reminds me of the original ET
Soo much fun - started playing yesterday at lunchtime and couldn't put it down till teatime.

Looking forward to it being released officially - its a fast paced game, and easy to get to grips with.

Good to see it doesn't use loads of resources but is still pretty enough - running it on High 2560x1080, left FOV on default but will try upping it next time.

EDIT: shame it only goes up to 8v8, woulda been awesome 16x16 (or more) players - carnage city :>

Got dropped the best two Fragger and Kira loadouts in gold the other day, got Skyhammer in Elite Rifleman (best bronze loadout) and some other nice Bronze Aura loadouts. It seems like CS I have loads of luck at the start with drops and loadouts, it just all goes to kack and disappointment after a while. Guess I just gotta ride my luck while I can.

Played a few games of this earlier finally and it seems pretty fun. Lots of players on the servers too. It's quite refreshing to play a game that feels intuitive whilst also being a massive noob

Just to reiterate - if you know what loadout you want (say you already like a given weapon, and have seen some nice powers) you can get it direct from the store, no gambling, for about 17k in-game currency I believe.

Obvs, opening packs is more fun, but I'd not advise anyone spend real or in-game currency on packs unless you REALLY enjoy opening them.

Yup completely agree. Mine were from free dropped cases not paid for, I only paid for Kira and Sparks but they were both paid from CSGO skins I sold so

I have played a hell of a a lot these past few days and it's completely ruined my CSGO play

Bronze is the highest level of augments, anything above that is just bling

When you say "someone figured out", it's intended and advertised as such - everything above bronze is purely cosmetic and always has been.

I don't understand the boosters, loudouts, rank system, cases, card system etc but it is enjoyable when you have players that play the PTFO.

ok, I'll add you on Steam but as soon as I figure it out I'll write a FAQ so it can benefit everyone as it is a decent game. I just wish people would revive me though and construct as it blocks entry points for the enemy, I know I am clueless with the game atm but I am not atleaset useless lol

I did watch some videos yesterday and that Proxy merc is way OP. 2 shot kill with a shotgun, proxy mines, fast defuse and plant times and warp speed running doesn't seem fair to me but what do I know I'm still new and need to figure out what augments my merc has.

ttk seems fair, recoil is very manageable but do they limit what mercs can be in a team? For example it appears the game is full of snipers or mini gun players can a team have more than one?

edit - what does that head bob option do in the options menu?
