Hi guys, is this possible? Currently re-installed my 2 x 1tb hitatchi drives, but the noise is driving me nuts, it's a new build and on my previous mobo + cpu (Crosshair III + 955 BE) the hard drives were silent, and only starting moving when I opened them (They're storage drives so barely accessed)

Now i'm on intel they always seem to be moving, and they are pretty noisy, I like it quiet, is there a setting to do this? :D

Kinda like a speedstep for hard drives..

^ I use it to spin down my hdds and I have 2 ssds, no issues.

I'm fairly certain the option doesn't apply to ssds, in the same way windows doesn't attempt to automatically defrag ssds. (Go to disk defrag, check in configure schedule. Even with 'all drives' ticked you won't see any ssds in there). You can defrag ssds manually (I think - I haven't tried), but it can/will reduce their lifespan so I never have.

TBH I don't need a lot of storage so I'm thinking of getting rid of my hdds because the high pitched sound does my nut in.
