Disaster my CPU is dead!

has it been alright since?

you only really need to up the vtt when more than 8gb of memory is used, auto should be fine with 8gb

No BSOD as yet, I have had the pc on a few hours, the thing I have noticed is the browser is no longer jerky when there are a lot of images on the page and it seems to be running a lot smoother.

Fingers crossed that might just be what the problem was whicvh would explain how I have had these problems for some time. (I'm a bit lazy)

I had a crash this morning, BAD_POOL_HEADER I have posted the info on the tech forums if any body is interested. It is located on the last post at the bottom of the page. Only conselation to this is that it is a BSOD I have not seen in ages and I hope it is just a rouge driver.

Go to the Intel website and download the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool. It takes approximately 5 minutes to run and should give you a better idea on the health of the CPU.

I have done this the CPU passed all tests but I am told that it may not uncover a failing CPU as much like memory the cpu will not fail consistently.

That said I have not seen anymore BSOD that lead me to think the CPU is the problem, I am thinking personally it may be the motherboard with RAM a close second. The strange thing is everytime I do something I seem to get a different BSOD. Fifa was crashing I swapped slots updated all chipset drivers no more crashes. Changed profile for ram no more memory management crashes, changed and updated LAN drivers no more IRQL crashes. Its never ending now I'm getting BAD_POOL_HEADER.

I started getting a lot of BSODs when browsing watching flash/youtube videos and it is to do with AMD's newer drivers.

Try rolling back to maybe 13.9. I'm on 14.4 and still get the odd issue but its mostly ok but someone said 13.9 were rock solid. Pain if your playing the latest games though.

I was just the same as you thinking it was all sorts of stuff.

Can't hurt to try.

+1 I would often get BSOD when watching integrated YOUTUBE videos, was new AMD drivers.

Problem is its inconsistent I have had a video BSOD since last week, I tried to force it but after 2 hours watching youtube it didn't crash once.

I'm going to try change the vtt and run driver verifier and see if I can remove all driver problems to eliminate them and establish once and for all if this is a hardware issue

you need to try with 1.10v vtt if you can

I've updated to the beta bios and set everything back to default, after finally finding out how to change the vtt the system became more unstable and I started getting black screen reset with no BSOD and no memory dumps. I am back on optimised settings with the beta BIOS in the hope this resolves the problem will report back later.
