I was just called a Jew and told to go back to Auschwitz in the street by 3 lovely pass-bys. It makes me absolutely sick, not by the fact they are being rude and offensive to me in broad daylight but, they are condoning genocide and disgracing the memories of the people killed in the Holocaust. I feel terrible ignoring this and walking on but what can one do. They see other people doing this (which in their eyes must legitimise it) and imitate it because they are idiots.

Sorry, I know this is nothing new, but I just needed to get this off my chest.

This is disgusting. I too live in Lisburn but have never come across such blatant discrimination (perhaps because I am not Jewish :) ) How did they know you are Jewish?

You're in NI, we're generally a very narrow minded group of people.

Why did they call you a Jew, do you look like a Jew?

Forget about them and be content that you're a better person than they will ever be.

Well they achieved what they wanted and ***** you off.

Indeed. If no one took any notice, ignored them and let them get on with it then they would soon get bored.

NO SWEARING

Damn, first time I've ever been done for that. Didn't really think it was classed as swearing tbh seen the word flying about loads recently that's why I used it : /

Ah well.

But yea, They got what they wanted, they annoyed you.

But are you a Protestant Jew or a Catholic Jew.
Sorry, don't mean to make light of what happened.
Hah hah, indeed!
One thing I have noticed on my travels is that the people in NI and indeed the rest of Ireland are probably some of the most racist in the world. It more than likely stems from the 'small town' attitude and fear of change amongst older folk out in the sticks.

It is more evident among the older generations but it can seep down into the younger ones.

I'm not a Jew, but I am a half-cast as my dad is from the middle-east, and mum from here, with growing up in London. So anyone that doesn't look like they are the natives of this blessed Protestant outpost of NI, probably receives similar racial slurs.

They looked like ordinary folk (not particular working class or chavish) and girls. Also it is in a generally good/peaceful area in this town.
