Disk clicking, now can't access

Last night it made a clicking noise, I rebooted then windows took ages to load and I couldn't see the drive.

Tried again this morning and it's the same. I unplugged the suspect HD and windows loaded normally.

Now it seems like it's dead but is there anything I can do to get the data from it?

yep only advise is wait till pc cold, ie not switched on for awhile, then use acronis boot cd to recover as an image to an external hd enclosure.

I know in the past this topic has being discussed through out tforums in the past do a search may help :-)

First of all don't write to the disk anymore. Then find a recover utility.

its dead.

send it to a pro data recovery place if you NEED the data off it but expect to pay through the ass for this, otherwise, bin it and buy better drives in future.

normally a hard drive can power back up for awhile from cold , then u could the recovery method afor mentioned in post
