On my Motherboard - Gigabyte P965 DS3 rev 1.0 , I have a total of 6 SATA ports. Two of them are purple, and the other 4 are orange. The 4 orange ones run of the ICH controller, and the purple ones are the embedded controller.
So to the question - I currently run on the orange ones on the ICH controller, is there any benefit to using the purple dedicated ones instead?
