I run and have been running Diskeeper for over a year now on all drives. Is it good practice to run something like this to keep the drives defragged, or is it bad for them in any way (reduce life etc)

i used to use diskeeper until once i defragged the startup files (offline files) and buggered up the file structure and wudnt boot up. all i was left with was a black screen...

now i only use o&o defragmenter instead.

Yeah, I too have been using Diskeeper for a few years now, and it's never given me any problems...works nicely on XP (and previously Vista).
