Disklocks..

So they call a steering wheel lock a disklok .......

Were you meant to store that stupid big thing ??

tbh if someone wants your car badly enough, they'll take it
i don't think disklocks are that much of a deterrent on older cars, can't some thieves break into all locks in like 5s?

disklocks are pointless on newer cars anyway because you need the key to steal it. and if they break into your house to steal the keys, they'll get the disklock key too. if not, they'll break your legs.

I didn't realise anybody still used these nowadays!

Not necessary because everything has an immobiliser (even the old punto I started in had) - but - it's nice to have something which will deter common thieves before they've smashed your window.

Flashing LEDs are always welcome too :)

Do the flashing LEDs have to be attached to something? I just went to ****** and bought 12 assorted LEDs which are now scattered across the front and rear seats. :P

Ahem. Sorry. My Grandad always used to use steering wheel locks, i've never bothered due to car being pretty decent security wise, though I agree it's a good deterrent to avoid window replacement etc. I noticed the other day (belatedly) my driver window is different to the other windows, so sometime mine has been broken into :/

Just a single red flashing LED on the dashboard would work far better,i would think

As thiefs would be thinking there going be getting a free christmas with your car :D

These things are a complete waste of time unless you've got a 15+ year old car. You can't pinch a modern car without the keys so the Disclock is compeltely pointless. Casual joyriders cannot steal Audi TT's (The car in the photograph a few posts up) and the like and they certainly wont stop pro theives who'll almost certainly theive the car using the keys anyway.

By all means put them on your Vauxhall Belmont, if there are any still left, but anything newer and it's a completely un-neccesary and pointless faff.

Visual deterrent - just like that red LED I bet is somewhere on your dash. It makes it perfectly clear to the most inbred sink estate yob that they can't drive it off and they should just not bother.

Don't think the E39 has a red flashing LED anywhere, unless the nose thing on the rear view mirror flashes.

Even the most inbred of sink yobs knows he cannot drive off in a modern car. It's not a detterent becuase it prevents nothing that is possible without it.

This is why the sink yobs smash their way into your house now instead.

I got one thrown in with the deal on the mini, which I think is fair enough as the car doesn't really have any sort of security at all.
