Display port adapters

Hi All just bought xfx rx 5700xt thick lll
Ultra. Want to run my 3 samsung 1920x1200 monitors but all my monitors are dvi . Can anyone help me with which display port adapters do I have to buy. Can they be passive or do they have to be active?

Good question, originally with the 5970 you needed all 3 to be active adaptors and in later models 2 out of 3 , but not sure thats the case anymore. According the the specs, upto 3 can be passive, but not entirely sure i trust that...

Well I found out from amd that upto three monitors they can be passive few thank god for that.
Know my only problem is radeon software wont open after installing drivers downloaded from amd.
Any ideas?

This reddit thread mentions passive adaptors only allowing 1080p @ 60 hz ...

What driver version did you use, is it a fresh install / have you come from Nvidia or prev AMD gpu.

I'd try DDU to uninstall any old AMD or Nvidia drivers and try again.

If you've installed the very latest AMD , 20.5.1 they are a bit buggy and specifically aligned with the Windows 10 2004 May 2020 version, if you've not got Windows 2004 , i.e. youre on version 1909 etc. i'd get an older driver. I'm using 20.4.2 on 5700xt

Well I'm on win 7.
Came from a amd 6990.
Win7.
is a fresh install .
Used ddu to uninstall all amd drivers .
Then installed latest win 7 drivers from amd.

Dunno , i'd try the drivers thread, haven't used Win 7 for quite a while so dont know whats what.

I would be sticking a x5650 in that rig. If I were you.
