The AMD Driver Thread

Been doing some reading on what settings to use and most seem to say turn off surface optimisation as well as using high texture filtering quality along with 16x filtering with everything else on default so that is what I have done :p

dear AMDmatt reply sometime lol...

Thanks for another AAA driver for titanfall 2.. it is great running a really old game engine that is terrible.

oh and once again no bloody crossfire support.

I am so going green after my last rigs are as follows.

2x 7970's
2x 799's (they kept the house warm in the winter)
2x amd fury x's

what is the point. stop giving it all this 4k gaming and crossfire ready rubbish that are on your outlets sites. Crossfire is not ready and never will be.. trading standards here i come.

You could get away with it if they say "crossfire ready...if you are lucky" how about that ?

there is some poor guy on your AMD forum that loaved BF1 so much (not to clued up) so he went all out crossfire. Go and read his post... i think AMD should refund him

btw you still haven't fixed witcher3 crossfire.. "claps hands".

Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.10.3 Highlights
Fixed Issues
Fixed an issue for Titanfall 2™ where a limited set of Graphics Core Next products may experience an intermittent game crash.
Known Issues
A few game titles may fail to launch, experience performance issues or crash if the third party application "Raptr" has its game overlay enabled. A workaround is to disable the overlay if this is experienced.
H.264 content playback may experience playback issues on internet browsers with hardware acceleration when also running gaming applications or content.
The Division™ may experience checkered corruption when using character model overlays or the game menu.
Some users without the Radeon WattMan feature may experience a Radeon Software popup error regarding Radeon WattMan.
FIFA 17™ may experience an application hang or black screen on launch for some select Hybrid Graphics or AMD PowerXpress mobile configurations.
H.264 content may experience blocky corruption when streaming using P2P content players on some Radeon RX 400 series graphics products.
Package Contents
The Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.10.3 installation package contains the following:
Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.10.3 Driver Version 16.40.2911.1001
The Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.10.3 installation package can be downloaded from the following links: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-art...re-Crimson-Edition-16-10-3-Release-Notes.aspx

I don't understand why people like yourself keep buying into crossfire, You know supports terrible, It always has been. I tried it once, never again, Fool me once, Shame on you, Fool me again, Shame on me.

Until Vega releases AMD have not got any 4k cards. So you either go green or use one Fury when crossfires not available with lower settings don't keep stressing yourself out trying to get crossfire working all the time, I'm surprised by how well my stock clock Fury pro handles 3440 x 1440 with just a few tweaks so I'm sure you can make games run okay at 4k with a single Fury X, Stop walking into the same trap. Forget crossfire, Vega's the future for 4k with AMD.

Crossfire on Titanfall 2 seems quite reasonable using the Titanfall 1 profile, so long as you don't use TSAA. Scaling is not brilliant, but it is positive and in my limited play time I've not noticed any flicker or other typical problems.

The game looks about 8 years older than anything EA put out on Frostbyte though.

When i open the radeon settings, the update button on bottom left of the home screen, that used to show current drivers installed and new drivers avalible, isnt there anymore,it has been replace with preferences button.

There doesnt seem to be anyway to update to new drivers now, from the radeon settings app.

I lied. The Titanfall crossfire profile does see activity on both GPUs, but it is far smoother on a single card.

BF1 on the otherhand works now, only problem I had with that was that the Origin 10 hour preview opens BF1Trial.exe so the profile was ignoring it.

I had a lot of trouble with the directx pop up error this week in both bf1 and fifa. I think I finally have a temp fix.

Since I set it to Adjust for best performance I haven't had it happen since and the game feels so much better running on the 480.

Lol. You won't get any support from green team about these things. Lot of fight going on kinda long ago about non exist SLI support and so on.

Why has the display tab freesync toggle gone?

Noticed there was tearing in BF1 so I opened up the AMD settings to check if freesync had been disabled. Then noticed the display tab with the freesync toggle had completely disappeared?!

This is what it looks like 16.9.2 and earlier

This is what it now looks like 16.10.1, 2, 3

Where do I check freesync is enabled in 16.10.x?

Thats strange, I would uninstall driver control panel and run DDU and then install latest driver 16.10.3

I've only seen the Radeon Settings missing the Display tab when using a laptop with Enduro (the AMD card in that case is render only with the intel IGP controlling the display). As above, wipe the driver and re-install.

Thanks guys! DDU has sorted it :)
