i cant get my 3700 stable at 2.7 either can just doit at 2.6 prime stable, but any higher just wont. bit annoyin i dont have the best board for overclocking

dale1uk said:That could be you problem, my msi board didn't like running at cas 2 on a divider and was a major stumbling block for me for a long time till i realised thats what it was and it wasn't my cpu maxing out. Try putting it at cas 2.5 or really slacken off all the timings to rule out ram. Thats what i did then found the limit of the chip and then tightened up the timings again. As you can see in my sig the best i could get on a 166 divider is 2.5-3-3-6 compared to 2-3-2-5 that it should run at. Also my v-core runs at 1.56v and is used 24/7 so you've still got a bit of headroom voltage wise.
Almost certian it will be your ram timings that is holding you back.
