Ditching PS4 and moving to XBO

Do it. I bought my xbox one around release, I have had my money's worth out of it. Over 1200hours of moneys worth going by the poster Microsoft sent me :p

So glad I didn't sell it when I bought my PS4. would have been a massive mistake.

If you can afford to keep both, that would be the best bet. Best of both worlds then.

Can't you just use your PC for rocksmith?

That's what I was going to suggest, I have Rocksmith on the PC - briefly considered a console version but I have a bunch of DLC on the PC plus I can play custom songs on the PC.

Yeah I have it on PC, both the original and 2014 version, it's just a bit of a faff getting it all setup to the TV, external audio, then not as easy to control between songs etc.

The Xbox 360 coming downstairs has worked out alright tbh, so that will do for now. Mind you, now my head is engaged in "new console" mode, I can't help but look around at decent deals :)

Thanks for all the advice. I will flog my PS4, and probably my Wii U Premium as well, and use those sales to fund an XBO and the few games I want - but I'll take my time, no immediate rush now I have the 360 to use :)

Is this rocksmith good then?

How does it work?

Yeah I think so - I play quite a bit of guitar anyway, but it's helped with certain things. Plug guitar in (via RealTone cable), select songs, learn them on rhythm, lead, or bass. You really need sound routed to a seperate a/v reciever to reduce the lag, but with a decent setup it is awesome.

I've made the jump, bought a PS4 at launch and got an Xbox One around 6 months later. Found all my friends had got the Xbox and couldn't justify keeping the 2. I don't regret it at all, but saying that the last gen was just Xbox for me and I'm really sold on their exclusives whereby I look at Playstation and it is literally just Uncharted I was getting excited about.

Around looking around, seems like the ps4s are having high rates of trading ins. Looks like things are changing and the silly 1080p vs whatever resolution Xbox one games are running at arguement isn't justifiable anymore to keep a ps4.

If you dont play exclusives just stick to PS4 imo. I have both, the PS4 is a faster and better console.

Is it? Apart from it booting up faster, I can't think of anything it does better than the Xbone.

I also own both btw.

The battery life in the controller is laughable aswell, the xbone battery pack lasts forever.

I find the dashboard (main screen, whatever you call it) on the PS4 easier to navigate that the XBO. I picked up the XBO due to the Titanfail hype, ended up selling it about a month ago.

It's all subjective but the OP seems to already know what he wants.

Over at the US Black Friday sale weekend, of consoles sold:-

Xbox 61% (9% of the 61% were Xbox 360)
Playstaion 31%
Wii U 8%

Please don't be a moron.

Nobody cares which is better. Lets not turn this into a console war.

Heheh yes, no console wars please :) I've been genuinely quite impressed by the sensible nature of a lot of the comments in here.

The 360 is working out ok for RS2014 for now, although the kids are giving me grief for taking it, and the Mrs is giving me grief for it "messing up" the look of our entertainment centre :/

Most gens I've always had both consoles, but gaming a lot less these days, mostly FIFA and AC:Unity. I think I'll get all my PS4 and Wii U kit sold, then maybe just after Crimbo I can find a good deal on a XBO bundle.... Who am I kidding, I don't have the patience for that, I'll probably take the plunge sooner rather than later :)

As previously stated I have RS2014 on the laptop, but it's a pita to setup to the TV and AV for playing it with the Mrs, it's more so I can use the "game" and amps when I travel away.

Cheers all, time to get pricing up the PS4 stuff and see how much I can get back for it!!

I wouldn't up and sell my ps4 for an x1, I'm sticking to my ps4 as the cost to sell up and rebuy on another platform is just crazy if you ask me.

Few times I've used an x1 it hasn't made me go wow, this is better then my ps4, it's just felt the same, controller on x1 is bigger maybe but I would say prefer the ds4 and the os I find simplistic and quicker on ps4, other then this. Nah wouldn't sell up on the strength of x1 being better, just the same machines just one has their exclusives and the other has their exclusives and this I'd say is all it boils down to in the end...

I couldn't justify the cost, I might end up with both if the x1 becomes so cheap it's like impulse buy territory, till then sticking with my ps4. Does what I need it to do, and I think its crazy you can use your Xbox 360 for the one game you have issue with and still going to sell up, but that's imo.

A lot of my 360 still haven't upgraded yet. I might wait to see what they upgrade to. If they go for the X1 then I'm considering swapping my PS4 for one. Or maybe I'll just get an X1 anyway. Use the X1 for MP and the PS4 for SP.

I've had a PS4 since launch and an XBO for about 2 months and for me personally I'm liking the Xbox more. Despite it's lack of sheer grunt in comparison the Xbox still looks pretty damn good - both Forza Horizon and Dragon Age have on occasion just made me stop to look at the scenery.

It's possibly because I spent almost all of last generation on the 360 so the One just has that familiar feel that I'm drawn to, but I also feel a little short-changed by Sony when it comes to still not adding in features which the previous generation could do, and not really getting a killer first party title out there in the first year.

Finally, there's no doubt that Kinect is gimmicky but I really have got used to turning on and off, playing films and doing other tasks all by voice and gesture; I'm aware the PS4 can do this through its own camera as well...
I'm not intending to sell my PS4 anytime soon, but the Xbox is certainly getting more use in the meantime.
