Well Daley has it all to do, in last place at the half way stage of the semi-final, needs to gain ~50 points over 9th place in the next three dives.

Oops, 12 go through, think it was ~35 points gain needed then.

Wow, after last night's score I thought he would at least match his bronze from London, three bad dives today.
 
What's the point in a semi final that only knocks out 6 of 18 when you've already had a heat?

Especially in a scored sport rather than a head to head.

Absolutely and so many I've talked to seem to agree.

The hype surrounding him is ludicrous. Ok so he's won a couple of Olympic bronzes which isn't to be sniffed at but he's talked about as if he's a multiple Olympic champion and certain to take the 10m individual Gold one day. Nothing I've seen from him suggests he has the capacity to be an Olympic champion. Just doesn't have the consistency.

In terms of Olympic achievement, next to Jack Laugher he's a nobody, let alone the Hoys, Kennys, Trotts, Farahs and Redgraves of this world.
