Divinity Original Sin

I'm not going mad, can anyone work this out:

I want to do cripple (no 6). I have 6 AP and moving 3 will get me to the enemy. Cipple hasnt got the red flag which means I have enough AP, right?

WRONG! I move 3 spaces and it goes black (?) not red flagged like the hand (no.2)

Then I look at it and its AP 6, so 4 + 2, i'm guessing thats why it goes black? but why doesnt the red flag tell me I cant do the damn spell? means those flags are completely pointless.

Its making it annoying confusing.

Cripple needs 6 points to use. You had 6, used 3 to move then had 3 left, so not enough to use cripple.

Yes. but why didnt it tell me that like the other skills? the red corner flag means 'too many AP to use', correct?

in the heat of the battle I have been getting by with making a move as long as the red corner flag hasnt appeared I can make that move.

'The red icon means that if you move as far as your mouse pointer is on, you can no longer cast that spell. If you have 7AP and a spell costs 6AP, your skill will get that "Red Corner" if you move your mouse in such a way that your movement will leave you with less than 6AP'

You can clearly see me with 3 moves and no red flag, thats my point - weird stuff has been happening with my moves getting blacked out and I dont know why, here I caught one to show

Never had any issues

AP covers everything you do. Can't remember if you do not use AP it carries over been a long time since I played it.

Yeah it does. I seem to have a bug where some skills arent getting the red flag treatment causing me to make silly mistakes. Annoying when i'm trying to punch above my weight

Sorry to ressurect and old thread, but with the whole hoo-ha of number 2 being out, me and a mate picked up no.1 to do some co-op.

Started off great, got to the 1st town found out about the
dragon eating space and time, why is it always a dragon?
but the game just isn't biting for me, a lot of talking and not much action to back it up so far.

I know we're still pretty much at the beginning, but how long before things start to pick up? I'm scraping for a good turn based fight! :p

There is a fair bit of interaction at the start (and throughout tbh) but more so at start while you get the foundation laid. There are however some missions and zones outside the main city walls. The zone's are levelled, so at the start you want to exit through the north west which has lowest level enemies. There is also some quests inside the town itself which will level you up.

Yeah, I’m not really feeling it either. Only just reached the town so exploring there but digging up a pile of dirt reveals a creature with a bomb on that blows you up? Really? That cost me half an hour of barrel looting since my last save.

Probably made a boob by not picking any characters with a healing spell.

I'm just getting round to finish this (eventually) in Hunters Edge at the moment. I still find this impossible to play without a guide as at times the clues are insanely oblique :p

Want to finish this so I can give 2 a blast.

Use the teleport skill (you should get, it’s essential really)and drop the bomber mob onto the oil barrels, takes it out and does mad aoe on the others around it.

It took me hours to get into it. It's worth it though.

Sorry for the bump but got a question. :o

Just started the game to have a look around and the character creation got me a bit stumped, so many choice and so few points ! :p So my question is, what kind of build (rough guidelines) would be recommended for a newbie ??

Problem with games like these is starting builds are super important. Mess badly with points at the start and allocating through the game and then your just shooting yourself in the foot. That's why I spend more time looking for build advice and what not than playing the bloody game lol.

When i first played i used the totems a lot and found them extremely useful. so putting point in summoning. if you are going to do 4 characters make sure you have a high luck high lock picking character and also someone with pet pal!

Thanks, I ended up with main as a Warrior and second one as a pure mage breed. We'll see how it goes with those. I did pick pet pal though, but is lockpicking that important considering you seem to be able to break any locked chests/doors ?
