DIY Lee Filters for your Flash

Bargain, requested one from a relatively nearby dealer on Monday and received it first class today. When I was told there was a package for me at work I was thinking it was the wireless flash trigger that I'd ordered - was a surprise to get that.

I wonder what the optical quality of the ND gels is :D
For example you can buy a 1.2m sheet of #211 0.9 ND for £4.50 online... make your own 9 or 10 stop+ filter and work out a way to attach it without light leakage... ;).

Probably a terrible idea

These Lee Filters probably aren't the best optically. They're designed to be used on high powered lamps so they can take some really high temps...

Try putting your hand in front of a 10Kw tungsten lamp and you'll see what I mean! :D

Just received mine from Panalux Bristol, one quick email last Tuesday and they were here Saturday morning, didnt expect such a choice of colours.

Anybody got pics of how their fitting them? just trying to work out the easiest way to go about it.

Not any from Bristol. Emailed a dealer near home in Surrey.
May give Panalux a go, although the student flat I'm living at has poor letter/parcel handling. Hmm.
Unless there's one near the city centre I could pickup from?

Unfortunately i don't think there are any centres near Bristol city centre, the nearest are in Avonmouth (BS11 postcode). I have just received an email from Panalux in Bristol to say that they are sending me a swatch in the post tomorrow. Is there another address you can get the swatch sent to?

It doesn't have to be sent to within the area, as it should cost the same to wherever in England surely?
If so, I could just send it home and then pick it up next time I return.
