DLSS 5 preview

Starfield - Just tried the latest Shortfuse Mod release from today on the RenoDX discord + my current RenoDX LUMA HDR mod. This is now absolute ******* peak! I cant wait to see where we're going with DLSS 5 now in the next year. And the Reno boys are so good, they deserve a ton of praise.

It's amazing how much better Forza 6 looks with DLSS 5, and it was already a nice looking game. It's nice to finally see a big jump in graphics again.

Annoying that it would never run good on my laptop 3070TI think I might need to get a new laptop before long.

Damn, running Cyberpunk with proper Nvidia 4xFG!

I tried the earlier 4x hack that used AMD FSR, and that was proper pants, but this, this is perfect!

Inya face Jensen!! :p

MFG is really good, Nvidia should've enabled it on 40 series at the same time as the 50 series launched as a show of goodwill, It would've been a really good look for them.

If you go back a bit more they did this with Ampere stating Ada had the OFA for FG. FG should also haven been a toggled option if you wanted to try it and not locked out too.

Yeah it's not a good look, And what with various wizard modders now using AI to find even more ways to modify things it's not a good look when it's found out all these locks are artificial.

Is it easy to set up?

Yep, just follow the instructions here:

Bear in mind, I believe this isn't the DLSS 5 mod, but for the MFG 3x 4x mod. (I stand to be corrected)

This works perfectly for the MFG 3x/4x mod, DLSS Unlocker wasn't working...

However DLSS Swapper dev looks to be working on DLSS 5 Implentation

CP2077 looks stunning with NR, sadly my poor 4070 is wrecked by it, even with MFG X4. On the plus side I can now run round Night City at 100+ FPS, with everything maxed out and path tracing enabled. Proper DLSS MFG is so much better than the hacked in FSR versions.

Nivida really is a pathetic, more artificial limitations for the 4000 series.

That person who modded it left some comments there too - the only real downside running it on 4k series is that it cost few ms (about 3) more. That's it.

Eh, no. It literally changes nothing in the graphics, it's an AI filter and that's all it is.

Sure it makes some things look more real (much less so in motion though) but "feeling" more realistic doesn't mean it's more accurate or better. Two very different things. Personal choice but, again, nothing to do with them graphics generated by the engine. It's not even new tech, Nvidia just run out of marketing stunts so took the one thing social media already was full of and slapped it on top of a game. It wasn't difficult, it wasn't new tech, just no other company even got that idea as it sounds ridiculous. But there's a reason images with heavy filters are more popular, many seem to like that for some reason, irrelevant how actually unrealistic it often looks.

For the the simplest solution is to cap them all at 16GB vRAM. Oh wait, they mostly already do that anyway, for years. :)
I'm gutted they canned the 5080 super, a 24gb version would've been going straight in my basket!

Anyone with a 5080 that's tried NR? Does it run ok in 4k?
