DLSS 5 preview

I noticed this and in Witcher 3 too, the DLSS5 ones had less vibrancy as they target more "realism" it seems. Whilst some areas of the DLSS5 look nice (AO, surface texturing getting an almost bump mapped perception in Witcher etc), I don't like the overall look vs stock path tracing or even stock Hardware Lumen in Townfall here, and I was using the default single pass DLSS 5 as well, adding more passes makes things look even more waxy.

It approximates which isn't that good. Look at the monitor itself, is darker in the DLSS5 image. While some lights could be set way too powerful by the devs, the DLSS 5 version isn't something I'd like with the exception of material quality and faces perhaps.

Not with that new DLSS 5 Swapper tool, it is exactly 1 click to enable or disable.

The reason i mentioned it is because there have been things that required 1 clock and you said too much faffing about :D

Not to mention you said you would never use MFG and was like 110% certain you would never use. Yet here we are :D

At that time DLSS 5 Swapper didn't exist like this, as a means to check something out it's fine. Plus there have been big recent developments that have changed things considerably.

x2 faster model being released by Lord Jensen and native Hogwarts support

That same day, NBA 2K27 will receive a 2X faster model that increases in-game frame rates. And the new 3D-Guided Neural Rendering model will power DLSS 5 in Hogwarts Legacy and Where Winds Meet in the coming weeks.
Additionally, October 23rd sees the addition of DLSS 5 to RTX Remix, giving modders even more options and tools for remastering classic games.

Sounds interesting!! Faster DLSS 5 and having it added to Remix :)

wonder if the new neutral model will be using nvfp4, if so wouldn't that mean 5000 series only?

:D

I think those performance gains are because they may have decided to implement it on the base render resolution rather than after. Since the fidelity difference is non existant, but the FPS tax is enormous.

It's improved now as Nvidia released an update that makes it more efficient, people are playing Witcher 3 on a 5070 Ti at 100fps with 2xFG (RT Ultra not PT as you want it on RT) for example and a 4K output.

No need for faffing about either :p:D
