DnB thread!

Think it's pretty poor production if you ask me. Prefer the stuff Lomax has done with BCee, Xample, Kubiks etc

it depends what you're looking for really. this is going for the rough-edged approach, which imo is more aggressive sounding. if you want smooth sounding d'n'b, the more liquidy stuff is going to be more to your liking.

i like a bit of both, the rough stuff for having a proper stomp, liquid for chillin out to in the sun

the stuff i make is more the rougher sounding stuff, so naturally i'm gonna gravitate towards that :D

Finga, subscribe to that channel mate, it's mine ;)

As for the 'Clownstep' Nah bro. Jump Up is king

as for clownstep, that's just yet another silly name that someone like dj pleasure or someone equally as untalented would come up with trying to say they're pushing the boundaries and creating a new style.

DJ Pleasure untalented? ahaha jog on bro

what? if it sounds heavy, saying it's rough is an expression...

as for jump up, it's possibly the most common form of d'n'b in my opinion.

tech step/dark step is what c4c, dom & roland, ed rush & optical, spirit, loxy, ink etc do.

renegade hardware is without a doubt the best form of d'n'b for me.

clownstep is p***-take expression for crap jump up mate, end of

that lomax track posted is jump up, plain and simple, its the sort of stuff i expect to see geezers taking their shirt of jumping up and down to, i avoid places like that
also, how can you say jump up is the most common form of dnb, lol, most basic , yes, but most common, get out of here

i agree with you that it's the sort that you get knobs like that raving to, but i disagree that it isn't 'common'.

look at most of the 'big' d'n'b nights; i guarantee all you'll hear at nights like that is jump up. not saying it's the most widely made d'n'b, but it certainly is the most played out at 'big' nights.

also, i can hardly say it's basic. i'd like to see you make something half as clever as some of that; yes there is a lot of garbage that gets released by crap producers who have made a wobble line and claim it's bangin', but stuff like original sin, heist, taxman, tc, hazard etc is still incredibly good use of synths!

dont agree, if you go to a club and hype and hazard are playing, its pretty obvious what youre gonna be hearing during their sets, but it certainly is not the most played out genre of dnb, and what are you calling a 'big' dnb night, are you talking about commercial raves with different music arenas where the djs play generic crap to the aforementioned shirtless ravers? if so, thats kinda irrelevant, when jump up is the most played genre in fabric then you will have a fact there but its not in any way
as for production skills, jump up is made to jump to, there are not many skills involved at all with that, as proved by every tom dick and harry doing it in their bedroom nowadays, tc is one of them crap producers imo too, i have quite a bit of orig sin and taxman stuff as now and then they make a tune which aint that bad to just listen to, but tc, hes as bad as clipz
