DnB thread!

just heard the news that shapeshifter signed to hospital....cant say im surpised but i am disappointed.

i have a horrible feeling that hospital will start playing with their sound and there lose their touch :(

Is anyone here into oldskool jungle from 1994/5? I know that Baby D were tip of the iceberg, then I'm really talking stuff like Lloydie Crucial Ribbon in the Sky, Maximum Style Lover to Lover, Redlight Coca Cola Bottle Shape, Tom & Jerry Air Freshener, and of course the classic Metamorphosis' Revelation. Plus, I loved any of the old jungle songs that started with a reggae beat (or another slow beat) then doubling up to jungle.

man, thats probably the biggest anthem of all time, with remixes in every form of dnb since hardcore

btw, baby d!
and maximun style-lover to lover is actually tom & jerry-maximun style, lover to lover is just the vocal
for jungle, well, ive got shed loads of the stuff, sounds like you like a bit of ragga jungle, if you like coca cola bottle shape then check out the similar track from redlight, blackman - b$%tards
heres a few of my faves :

i could go on all day, ive got over 6000 tracks from this era

i would post my latest fav dnb tracks but they are still dubs and not on youtube yet!
Total Science & SPY - While You Were Sleeping, anyone? awesome tune, i cant remember how to attach mp3 to video to up to youtube!

Wow Finga, that's totally up my street, so thanks a bunch, especially your first time, Rumble in the Jungle!! I was 15/16 in 1994, so I did see jungle the first time round. However, not being at clubbing age, I didn't get to know the different styles but the various compilations available was a start. Now that you said it though Finga, I think I am going for ragga style.

I know Reel 2 Real were more house music (famous for I Like To Move It), but on their 3rd album, they did a jungle track called Do Not Panic. It's well worth a listen, and it which shows influence from the Coca Cola track.

Meh, I can't seem to embed this video, so clicky here for the Reel 2 Real song.

i wouldnt say the reel 2 real track was influenced by coca cola bottle shape, the samples used are classic dancehall samples, there are many, many tunes before and after coca cola using this, its a classic sound, that rumble in the jungle track i posted, its called poison chang - love the woman (dj rap remix) its the only release of the track, very disappointing, one of the best jungle tracks of all time and only available on a compilation album! think its available on itunes but only 256kpbs format, better than nothing though, i have it on vinyl

Had to delete the Break remix of Redlines, got a message from Kasra (Owner of Critical Music) asking for it to be taken down. Will be forthcoming on Critical after the summer

its not a bad remix, but i was hoping for something a little different to it from Break

im mixing this ep a lot right now, this is the better track from it

Kabuki - Generation X (Zero T Remix)

Heya.

Heard a track being played in my only local club that plays DnB. It started off which was just a vocal sample. Slow. It also had talkbox or robotised vocals in it. I can't give any more info than that which probably means no one will have a clue. All I know is the sample was awesome and everyone loved it. It has to be a popular track.
