DnB thread!

ok , soundcloud is designed for your own material to be uplaoded, mixes of other peoples material infringes copyright, it technicaly is not allowed on soundcloud but no one seems to enforce this, as such it is not allowed here unless you have righst to all the material

re youtube stuff I have asked for clarification

With regards to dnb, the main youtube uploaders (liquicity, jsaltzz, UKFDrum&Bass) all have permission to upload from produces and/or the record labels.

Don't know if it helps at all..

fair enough but naturally its not technicaly allowed, thats the nature of copyright, however this isnt labels such as sony etc releasing stuff on there, its electronic genre labels promoting their own music, there are sets by djs who own and produce for the labels, playing music from other labels, because thats what the music is for, its made by djs for djs, people arent buying this music just to listen to, its being bought to mix, which renders any track placed in a mix useless to anybody else and they always get a sale for it, you cant change the rules of copyright, but they dont mind their stuff being promo'd aslong as its not available in hi quality full length version
youtube operate the same, if a track from a big company gets uploaded, 9 times out of 10 it will get removed, these sites arent file sharing, 10 minute mixes are all over youtube, no label cares, it doesnt harm them, it only promotes their tracks, generating sales

Not doing the bandwagon thing, but I must say that there's been several things I've seen on youtube and elsewhere, that I would never had exposure to otherwise - music, mostly obscure, old or non mainstream artists.
Having had a taster online and the ability to explore certain records etc, I have since bought cd's and records because of this. Had it not been hosted online I would never have known of its existence.
Snippets of tunes half heard from half a lifetime ago have lived again for me because of this, which is a truly amazing thing to consider.

as finga has said above, there wouldn't be a lot of point buying electronic music if not to perform (obviously people do buy tracks just to listen to, but that isn't really the point here).

so, are the dons happy for me to re-link my mix?

pwetty pweez :)

I've still got the Amazon 8 tape Jungle Pack at home, must have been from '95 I think. I'm talking Mickey Finn, Nicky Blackmarket, Kenny Ken, Brockie, Grooverider, MC Shabby, MC Det, amazing stuff.
I've been a huge fan from the days of 'The greatest Jungle in the world' album, haha. Tiger Style, General Levy & M Beat, Original Nuttah, Greater Love.

One of my mates from school is now a Jungle/DnB promoter here in Cardiff, as well as being an MC himself. He's had Grooverider, Brockie, Nicky Blackmarket, Aphrodite, amongst many others here.

Now I love a bit of dirty heavy DnB but don't go far out of my way to listen to it (like music in general really :().

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3E-OXz_lGY -Err I suck at yourtube links :d
No where near my favourite track, but this was the kind of Jungle that got it out amongst the general population.

How could I forget to mention the Ready Or Not mix, there's one by DJ Brockie on youtube but has a sample that includes the naughty F word so won't post it :)
