DnB thread!

All this spunking over the Calibre album and the Break LP appears to be slept on, for shame.

There aint half some dreadful music posted in this thread. To the person that posted Source Direct tunes, well done indeed.

My observation is still true, there is a lot of dreadful music posted in this thread, it seems split between the trash being pedalled on Radio1 and no-mark producers that have copied something that already been copied a hundred times over. As someone pointed out recently, Danny Byrd is a good example, he made some amazing stuff in mid 2000, but now, well its just embarassing.

No I get what you are saying, stuff like Soul Function and Changes were great but some of his later output is frankly shocking. However plenty of good stuff has been posted, Calibre and Break are excellent IMHO and there's only been a few stinkers posted.

Where would soundcloud fit within this schema?

if you possessed the rights to distribute all pieces of music contained within it then fine, if you do not then it is not allowed

in the case of linking to other peoples stuff then you would have to be sure that all copyright holders had given permission for it's distribution

Given that I am sent the music I play by the artists that make it I would by default have the rights to distribute it.

I'm not trying to split hairs or be argumentative, I'm just trying to acertain the parameters of the rules, outside of whats been posted at the top of this section of the forum. Is there a better place to discuss it?

Difficult one, can you elaborate as to the basis on which you are sent the music ? saying somerhing is by default may well eb correct but we really would need to be more sure than that, do they provide any documentation to say that you can publicaly distribute it as opposed to just a live performance

Get your head out of your arse and grow up. Don't ruin this thread with your unnecesary arrogance. If you don't like what someones posted ignore it.

calm down, this whole thread is full of arrogance and disagreements....its called a forum after all. Netsky to me is what the venga boys are to pop...hes a well marketed hype machine with little substance that is pushed onto every hospital album.

moving on....
tunes of the week.
Jayden EP
BrookesBrothers - Warcry

The tracks are sent digitally, by AIM or email typically, there is no formal agreement written as they're sent from friends, labelmates and label owners.

They're allowed to be used for live performances, radio and studio mixes.

OK, with nothing in writing then we could not allow them to be used, sorry
