DnB thread!

Radio 1 xtra "DJ Marky will be joining Bailey LIVE on the DnB show tonight! "
I would link but im too lazy and about to go to sleep :p

i wish these threads were more about the discussion of the actual music not just youtube clip after youtube clip.

for example what do people think of the new brookes brothers album?
personally for such a long awaited album from a very established act i was left a bit disappointed, it seemed in the years leading up to the album they were bringing out tune after tune and then it kinda got a bit flat.
Beautiful is a great summer song and kicks things off nicely and in all fairness the album does gain strength in the latter half but the middle portion is completely shocking and really struggling to see how these songs made it on to an album.
so yeh thats my brief view on that one, youtube clips incoming >.<

There's not much to discuss though, other than "I like that tune" or "I don't like that tune". Music discussions just descend into chaos anyway with people getting defensive about their musical taste. Just look at the "Metal Sucks" thread on here.

I've not given the Brooke's Bros album a full listen yet, but it reminds me of Netsky with all the hype leading up to it then a somewhat lacklustre album. Personally, I've gone off the whole Hospital-esque cheerful sounding DnB recently.

Currently enjoying the album 'Beton Arme' by Raiden.

All the dnb I like is the head banging stuff. Most everyone else I talk to don't like it because it's too aggressive. At the minute though I'm rinsing out Kryptic Mind's two Dubstep albums. Funny that it takes dnb producers to keep Dubstep on the level.

Yeah Kryptic Minds are good, also I like a bit of Kromestar.

As for the DnB, I'm just feeling the deep, dark, techy stuff at the moment. Break has always been a fave of mine not to mention older stuff from the likes of Ed Rush & Optical, Teebee and Noisia. However, the likes of Tech Itch and Current Value are just too much for me. Borderline gabber/speedcore...

I'd love to hear someone drop Cutslo (lokuste mix) these days, I think I'd probably **** myself.

I posted this earlier in the year that sums up why I'm more partial to the harder stuff. As it goes though my listening tastes are pretty eclectic. I can go from listening to downtempo jazz to venetian snares at the flick of a switch. But when it comes to electronic music, I'll always lean more to the aggressive or complex stuff.

Yeah should be good. I've seen them all before and I just don't think Netsky fits in with the general vibe of Friction and Hazard. He'd be better suited at a Hospitality night. Might have to check out the dubstep room during his set lol.
