Bump in the hope that someone can tell me the UI that "mothermayi" was using...
I'd love to see someone raid heal with the default UI, or DPS without Omen. Not to mention things like DBM which in a lot of guilds are enforced..
2200+ UD Rogue player here, used defualt UI. Learn to use the standard UI and you will become a better player, as you rely less on the computer doing things for you.

It's not like I have to count DR's, target switch for CC, manually watch other player's casting instead of using focus target's target, count my own CC times, or count enemy's cooldowns or anything. Also I played double DPS, playing DPS + Healer is a lot easier.I found it was not possible to play resto shaman or holy paladin to there 'full' potential in arena without mods - specifically being unable to track counterspell / spell lock cooldowns was an instant loss v top50 in a competitive battlegroup.
So you absolutely cannot be a good player unless you use mod X, Y and Z? Is the player a good player due to themselves, or a good player because they use mod X, Y and Z? Does that person stop being a good player if they stop using those mods? In which case is it not the mod which is making them a good player rather than themselves?
No way that you can be inherently a good player?

Also if you need addon's to count for you well thats just ouch.
Tournaments are played on default UI, do you know how many rogue teams won major tournaments? 0. RDruid/(Hunter/Warrior/Warlock)/DPriest won them all. 2 healers in that team, winning at a global level with default ui.

Did you even play Pre all these addons? Grid is about all you "need" as a healer for the rest if your alert and can see a chat log you don't need DBM as 99.9% of bosses emote when they do something. its hardly even needed for one to having dbm anyway as there is always some that will be announcing it anyway.
I can survive on grid, sct and quartz mainly because i like to be able to move cast bars
