Hi I'm looking into buying a portable harddrive but just wondering if there is a file size limit, I think I remember reading there is a 2gb file size limit, is this true, is there anyway of getting around it?(other then splitting it using winrar). Cheers for the info

not if you format with ntfs. If you do use ntfs you won't be able to use it with some older os like win 98 and macs etc

Cool thanks, so all I gota do is format in NTFS. Seems easy enough. Cheers. :)

(The passport is the one I want, best valu for money imo)

*oh carp, just realised I put it in the wrong section, oh well, got my answer ;)

well I have my 250gb in FAT32 (yeah I forgot to format when i bought), there lots of huge files over 2 gig on mine, no problems reading / writing at all.

the limit for fat32 is 4 gb :)
