Do I... do I not... MBP order

You should have waited...

New 2.6GHz option and 7200rpm 200GB drive BTO :(

Or, more accurately, he should've invested in a crystal ball. I doubt most people knew that was coming.

Those options aren't currently available on UK store either.
Well, any rumors of product-line changes should be taken with a certain amount of interest. It just happens that they chose the opportunity to bump the other range too.

I'm not saying it was obvious, but if it were me I would have waited for the MacBook updates at least.

Also, it's a matter of time for Apple to pull the UK store and update.

@Panzerbjorn.. they've bumped CPU to 2.6GHz and disk sizes on the MBP.

It's a new Build to Order option, just like the hard drive.

Macs tend to hold value really well, so you could probably shove it on the bay and get a 80% value-back sale from it :)

I've seen :( *cries*

200Gb 7200RPM I wanted, I asked the store guys to talk to managers about it and they said they knew nothing! :(

the 2.6Ghz upgrades cost more so im not bothered by that.

All in all, I dont care.

I love this thing.

Apart from a nice new error with my Silicon Image sil3132 expresscard + mybook ES using eSATA which results in a nice -32 error and a corrupted HD :D

USB works fine tho, so emailed where I bought it and WD and if there is no fix Ill send it back and get a Akasa integral enclosure + Hitachi 500GB SATA to use via eSATA as there 2.5" eSATA with a 7K200 works fine LOL.

Ill post up some screenies soon, just working on checking all files have been copied over before the PowerMac G4 gets wiped and sold.

Cheers EVH, still can't decided whether to get one before Christmas or hold out the extra month for the January updates.

My advice is.. Buy now.

There's a chance if you wait until January (and nothing happens) then you'll be thinking "oh, I may as well wait until June now", and so the cycle continues.

You're entitled to 14 days "grace" period Concorde.. you could just send it back and get a new model minus the restocking fee, if you're that desperate (which I doubt) :)

The 2.6ghz is an added £125 ish probably...

IMO. BUY NOW!!!!

I'll wait until a 250Gb 7200RPM HD arrives, should be early next year :D [To upgrade my MBP 160Gb 7200)

Yeah I think I'll go for it with the 2.6ghz and 200GB HDD all with HE discount of course. :)

I just don't want the January update to be a killer e.g. a full re-design or a large jump in updated specs and miss out on it. Mac rumours buyers guide said that because it's in the middle of cycle they can't really recommend either way.

Concorde, if your not happy because of the sudden update get it packed up and ask for a refund.

I know its easy to say your happy with it, but a few days or maybe a week later you could have the newer version.

I'd be onto it right away, it will only leave me a few days without the Mac, but I'd be happy that it will be of benefit.

Seriously dude, I know your happy, but you've got 14 days return right? Your still in it right?

I wouldnt bother sending it back. In real-world use they'd be indistinguishable in terms of speed and its probably cheaper to upgrade the HD yourself. If I'd bought a MBP last week this news wouldnt bother me at all.

Yes I can, I'd have to pay £60 to get it restocked...

I've got this one all setup as I want (3 days work).

Its more than fast enough, I haven't actually managed to max out the CPU yet ;)

I have a 3.4Ghz C2D which will be a C2Q soon. I just wanted a updated Mac from my PM G4. I've got one which is PERFECT, no yellow issues, temps are fine, no dead pixels.

Bit annoying, but such is life.

My plan was to get this replaced next year with a Penryn MBP anyway.

So all is good IMO :)
