Well, your running simerlar spec hardware to mine, appart from you Don't have a SSD!
I got one last friday, a 120gb samsung evo.
Id been using two old sata 1 hdds, one 80gb with my windows 7 boot drive, and a 120gb with my data and programes that is about well, when did sata come out and became fairly cheap ish, 8 years ago? or sommat properly, not sure. its bloody aincient though.
and ssd has changed my computer completely, with the 120gb samsung evo as my boot drive with just windows 7 on and a few other important programs, it boots in less than 20 seconds from pressing the power button, its gone from, meh can i be bothered to start my pc up to do something, to just pressing a button and its on befor i even have a sip of a drink and turn my monitor on.
and i was worried about the whole, ah yeah but a new hdd, cant be bothered to reinstall windows etc, well samsung evo comes with migration software, and it just transfers everything from one hdd to ya new ssd, like my whole boot drive to my new ssd, job done in 20 mins, boot from it, and its all gravy, no hastle at all.
only had it since last friday, and only actually spent about 2 days on my pc because iv been away for 3 days, and in the two days iv actually been on my computer, well i couldn't use my computer without it now.
next step is to buy a bigger 2nd ssd drive for me files and programes, and use my hdds as backups!
edit: just googled it sata came out in 2003, i waited for 2 years after for the technology to get better, cheaper, and relyable, and well thats what iv done with ssd, and as everyone will say. now is the time to buy.
