do i need k-lite codec pack with mpc-hc/vlc?

Anyone else getting MPC-HC freezing up? Everytime I launch say a .avi file by double clicking it, MPC-HC launches, then freezes, have to kill it in task manager. Windows 7 HP 64 bit. Clean install.

I use that link for it, and use the x86 (32bit player), my OS is 64bit, but I just use the 32bt player

Already done the 1st 2 suggestions thanks.

Will give the 32bit version a whirl

Edit:: Still the same with 32bit version. [1.3.1718.0]
